Not very practical if you ask me, but it should do.
I think my two best beer highlights from my recent trip back were the Kolsch at Cellar Works and the Advertisements for "100 different beers" now in stock at Get-Go (I counted, like, 6).
Also, I'm just not feeling Dancing Gnome. It pains me to not like them, because I feel like I'm letting OneDropSoup down. I will probably give it yet another shot though, since I love their location and pricing.
Low standards?

Finally, someone speaking my language.
By my count I've had 14 of their beers, and I've liked (maybe) 3 of them enough to have again.
We seem to be in the minority, that's for sure.
I chalk this up to my tastes not aligning well with the NEIPA craze. There is a fine line between a good NEIPA and one that tastes like all the others. Trillium's beers are soft without being chalky or filling. I also notice distinct differences between the beers I've had from them. I've only had a couple Treehouse beers, but they definitely brought it in the aroma category, and were also soft without being heavy/chalky.
DG's hoppy beers all tasted/looked identical. Little aroma. And they all finish so chalky/heavy. I have no idea how people drink large quantities of these hazy beers. Even if they finish dry (gravity-wise), they all drink sweeter than they really are. The darker beers (Sua Da and Delineate) I had finished overly roasty/acrid.
I remember when old codgers would want "malt backbones" in their IPAs, and I would cringe at that thought. Give me clear, straw colored, West Coast style, all hops...that's what I thought it should be. Now I feel like the old codger who just can't get into the new style all the kids are drinking.
P.S. - I've been there twice, and the service has ranged from ****** to mediocre
Thanks man! Pretty happy with how it turned out, glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to do more coffee beers on the new system.jagoffbrewer I was visiting a buddy who is somewhat near your Mt Lebo location and asked him to grab a crowler of The Shakes. I thought it was an excellent coffee porter that really highlighted the coffee. Great stuff!
More coffee beers the better. The stout you did this spring (can't quite recall the name but came in 7.5% ish) was excellent. Thanks man! Pretty happy with how it turned out, glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to do more coffee beers on the new system.
had a couple of weeks to chill out a bit.

Everyone is different. That's why I balk when some say that a certain style is "right or wrong". Why can't it just be different? I generally really enjoy NEIPAs, but theirs just don't work for me. Almost all of their APAs have a funky garlic/onion thing happening that I just can't get past. I flat hated the base version of Jam, but the galaxy dry hop worked for me.
But yeah, all in all, they're just not doing it for me. Doesn't mean they're wrong, and clearly a lot of people are loving what they're doing. I guess I'm just not one of them.
For a place that has been open a year, I think DN is doing an amazingly good job at representing the style. I agree that their beers are a notch below Trillium and Tree House and BG but at least to me, their beers are always very good to excellent with Better 1 probably being a standout that is almost as good as anything I've had. At least for me, I'll gladly take the convenience of driving to Sharpsburg and getting cans once a week with minimal drama and having very good to excellent beers (sometimes amazing) to the headache of trading, paying for shipping etc. It's a trade off and I still love me some Trillium (thanks preluderl) but I'm pretty glad these guys are in our back yard. Plus, I think it's reasonable to think they will improve. Many of their beers have improved leaps and bounds already. Above all else, it's better and fresher than almost anything I can get on the shelf.
PSUMike, I definitely agree that some bitterness is nice. Voodoo seems to do a good job of balancing the NE Style with some West Coast bitterness. Just wish their stuff was available more regularly and more consistent in terms of quality. I also think Insurrection can do the mixed style very well.
Yep, clearly got my trading partners confused (2 trades in 1 day last week).... Meant that shout out to be to you. Yes, the DDH Scaled is awesome. Thanks again. You get into any of those DDH scaled yet? Very much looking forward to the Galaxy Jam?

#patience #friendsdontletfriendskettlesour #myneckmybackmypussyandmycrackSpeaking of insurrection, they posted that they are building a coolship next door. Fingers crossed it turns out good. #patience
I miss OG RuinationBasically how I feel about the lack of bitterness. Not saying they need to taste like OG Ruination but it's a ******* IPA. I want to know I'm drinking a beer.
Now I'm really confused. Just gonna call everyone Billy from now on.
