Maybe we value money differently, but seems awfully stressful to ship something you paid almost $2K for. As much as we can mitigate it with only using regular trade partners or getting lots of references, and packing boxes well, trading always takes on an element of risk. I can't imagine seeing "Delivery Exception" on that tracking page.

I only ask because I had the same idea as you, but am thinking all this through before actually pulling the trigger.
You do not have to buy if you "win". The odds are so low that I feel like I should enter. If I win I will figure it out from there.

I would never ship that anywhere. If I were to ever part with it then it would travel in my hands lol.

EDIT: thinking about it some more I would try to find a way for me to be compensated for what it cost me and then see if a charity or good cause could raise some needed money with it.

The one time, and only time I won anything, my card was charged immediately for it. That was over a year ago, so maybe its changed now. ( I switched cards on file just in case a 2k charge happens).

Having worked with the state store system on a "professional" level for many years, I don't even want to use my credit card at the store level. The magnitude of inept there is frightening.

Same RE the shipping. A buddy of mine in Florida already said he would buy it from me so on the incredibly off chance I won it I would just sell it to him. He has **** you money and collects such silly things.

Just ship it in one of these

Also.

PA Wine and Spirits mentioned secondary sales on the page. They will probably be out in full force, setting up a spy outside the winners house, tapping into the internet and phone lines .

"In light of attempts by previous lottery winners to illegally resell products obtained through Limited-Release Lotteries, the lottery Terms and Conditions have been updated to remind residents that the sale of alcoholic beverages without a license is strictly prohibited under Pennsylvania law. When entering a Limited-Release Lottery, a participant will be asked to acknowledge that he or she has read and understands these terms and conditions."

That'll show 'em, PLCB.

It's not illegal to trade is it?

More than likely I'd set something up in person. If shipping, youd be crazy to use ground. This would be overnight air with a crazy shipping case like a pelican.
I'm probably just underestimating the number of people who have thousands of dollars worth of bourbon or beer that I want and that they want to trade for one bottle, but I was thinking it might be difficult to find such a person locally (or even within a reasonable drive).
As for shipping, I guess overnight limits the amount of time you have to worry about it (as well as the amount of time for something to go wrong), but you still wouldn't be able to insure the package or anything, right? Is there a shipping service that actually allows civilians to ship and insure alcohol (at any price)?

I bet you could hook up with a high end dealer to use their insured shipping services for a fee

Not to change the subject, but did someone bring Mikkeller to the market? Saw caliente had an event and since it's them, was curious.

Not that I'm aware of, I think Caliente is just scraping the bottom of the barrel in what they can acquire in Philly but not here.

Why the **** would you go to a beer festival and only drink Yuengling? WADR and whatnot.

No lines pal, and i for real think Summer Wheat is delicious. Especially on a piping hot day. Like i said i'm pretty sure i hit the Straub tent a few times too and there's no way i didn't sample some other ****, i just can't remember much besides the Yng and the tacos.

Fair enough. That's always why I kinda think those things are silly though. You can go to the Eagle and pick up as much Yuengling Summer Wheat are your heart desires, and the same goes for the vast majority of the things that are poured at beer fests.

Awwww yeaaaaaahhhhhh

Well since we came up with this name, we should probably brew a hazy, New England style IPA to go with it. And we are! It's taken six different test batches but we finally came up with a recipe we like. Look for Partly Clahdy to debut at the end of the month. We might even can some if yinz ask nicely...

I've got a lot of friends that don't know a Hefe from a glass of rum so no way they're walking into the Eagle and snaggin a case of Yng or Lagun or Sierra or NB or whatever without having some kinda idea of what the **** tastes like. These festivals give them a chance to try some stuff and get excited about beer for a little while so i'm all for them. Maybe they'll have a Fat Tire in the fridge the next time i come over instead of a ******* can of IC Light.

Matt, you ignorant ****. Don't you know this is talkbeeryoucannotactuallybuy.com? Better trade your ass some rare lambics & barrel aged stouts before you come back around here talking that hefe weisse trash round these parts again.

I love Straub. I have no desire to ever go to actual breweries, but I love going to Straub. Does it have something to do with the free beer on tap? Yes. Yes it does.

I also respect that they are trying to make some "craftier" offerings. Some are definitely better than others.

It's definitely a good name. I'll give them that. Hate to say it, but I'm curious. Haven't had anything that wasn't Grat or Toaster from them in a long while.

Hardly what I was saying. It's just not for me when all of the things that they pour are easily accessible in retail. I think they're a fun, useful resource for folks who aren't the Sith level dweebs we are though.

I thought this variety pack was killer boots man, that pils is top shelf delicious IMHO, and a cold 16oz returnable on a hot summer's day is priceless
