Holy wow. I'd love to meet Garrett Oliver, but that love is not worth $100. I guess it depends on what appetizers they'll have.

I met him at Warpigs when I was in Copenhagen last month. No idea why he was there, but he looked totally out of place - stylish suit and hat. Doesn't seem like the type of brewery that he'd be associated with as well, but it was pretty cool to talk with him

What makes you say that?

Shrug, he just seems like a guy that takes beer pretty seriously (or at least wants to elevate it to a status similar to wine), and Warpigs had beers named stuff like Big Drunk Baby, Fukhof, youreallyfuckedmeup on tap and bottles.

Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about since he was there.

He's also known to go to random grocery stores for appearances or at least used to. I don't think anywhere is off limits if it
means sales or connections.

I tried to look around a little to see if they still have BA Grat to purchase... But their crack social media team doesn't seem to have anything about it out there.

It's not listed as for-purchase on their taplist though... so, I guess they sold out?

Or....

If they still have it, I doubt they are gonna advertise it. Im sure it would upset those who paid a surcharge online to be guaranteed X amount of cans only to find out they spent X amount of money unnecessarily because its still available days/weeks/whatever after the fact.

He also took the Ramones bowling.

Excuse me, how much? o_O

On Tuesday, June 28 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Hough’s will be hosting Oliver during a Brooklyn Brewery meet and greet.

There are two sessions available, a VIP session from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., and a General Admission session from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

VIP tickets are $125, and include a beer lesson with Oliver, Brooklyn Brewery beer samples (including as assortment of years from the Brooklyn Black Ops series, and Brooklyn Quarterly Experiments), and assorted appetizers. General admission tickets are $100 and include a Q&A with Oliver and beer samples.

I would love to ask him how many hats he has

Just biding my time until dat Schuylkill county extension opens....

You think Dick would ever allow such. There's only 1 Craft Brewery in the county!

I'm pretty excited about this. That's a 3 hour drive for me compared to 5. That also means Buffalo and Rochester dudes may speed on down 90 if allotments are available for whenever the next release is. Gonna have to be fast.

How does it take you 2 hours to go from Erie to Meadville? Something is wrong....

Well, if I was going Meadville, I might as well just keep going to Pittsburgh was my thought. It's not easy for me to get far away without kids, but possibly could get away with being gone for seven hours one day.

PUNCTUATION EXISTS

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't tenacious wee (or something) supposed to leave barrels last Thursday? I remember a pic from a long time ago in here. Better get the car started.

...also, ba gratitude 14 > ba gratitude 15 and it's.not.even.close. One was definitely lighter in color, but only by a little bit. That pic was seriously misleading from Pittsburgh FB group.

Attended a Garrett Oliver beer dinner at Headkeeper 6-7 years ago. The dude really knows how to propel beer & food parings to another level. Also made a point to stop at each table and chat in between courses. Personally poured us some of the first bottles of Sorachi Ace that made it off brewery premises. Aged Black Chocolate Stout with Strawberry Rhubarb crumble thing is one of my favorite beer/food moments ever. I'd do it again for sure, but at a place with better food than Hough's.

But I also spent twice that to have Kevin Sousa make me astronaut ice cream in his home kitchen, so what do I know.

greg4579 wasn't lying about the bread at Tired Hands. Damn.
