Terrapin 14th anniversary tart Belgian Red is in

has anyone ever had a terrapin sour?

Will try.
Just that collab they did with De Proef, Monstre Rouge. It was weird - I think it was supposed to be a Flanders-style but very heavily hopped. It was years ago, but something's telling me it tasted like old orange juice.

I'll just leave this here:

http://www.lumpenmagazine.org/on-jagoffs/

"Back to Chicago v. Pittsburgh: we could get into a throw-down with Pittsburghers over ownership of “jagoff,” but it’s probably better to acknowledge that many Rust Belt towns have parallel linguistic heritages, and we all should team up against Houston, Phoenix, and Tampa-St. Petersburg."

Just got done watching his portion of the episode. How in the **** can Albini claim that "jagoff" is a chicago thing? wyckydsceptre please clarify ASAP!

(36:32 mark)

Always wondered how uniquely Pittsburgh "jagoff" is. Jill Talley (who studied improv in Chicago) uses it in an episode of Mr. Show, & it seems to resonate with the (presumably Californian) crowd.

Thank you for the Mr. Show reference.

Ummm I've definitely heard jag off before moving to Pittsburgh. And don't they say it a bunch in one of those Chicago based SNL skits, either the one with sports guys or the Billy Goat tavern.

I won't watch that Bourdain thing though because I think he's a ******* pompous ******* that I DON'T LIKE (that's for you kbuzz )

I don't think I've ever had a bad beer from Terrapin.

I've never had a good one either but I definitely haven't had a bad one.

I'm assuming you haven't had their Walking Dead themed Blood Orange IPA. The beer was worse than the show's most recent season, which is saying a lot.

Christ that was awful. However I've heard nothing but awesome things about this past season (except for right now).

I honestly think that IPA was one of the worst beers I've had in recent memory.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that while they may never blow your socks off, they have very few flat out misses as well. They are your perfectly average brewery.

I picked up a bottle of terrapin 14th. I'll jump on this bomb and let YINZ know. Untappd rating is not promising. I should have looked before I ordered 3 cases. Ohhh well.

Anyone know Jake1992 from BA? Looks like this guy traded his entire Voodoo allotment away for beers, and now over the past week or so he is looking to trade the beers that he flipped back for the Voodoo stuff he originally had due to "buyer's remorse".

Yep, I kind of got carried away with trading over the past two weeks and then I realized that I should just chill out and enjoy these voodoo stouts myself. The only trade that I regret was my blabaer for Manbearpig. For some reason I've always wanted to try that beer but my desire went away once it was sitting in my fridge. It's very strange and I can't really explain it, it's almost like I wanted the bottle just to have it and then I realized the mistake that I made. I need to take some time away from this beer trading thing since I'm spending so much time lately.

I've been there man. Easier said than done for a while. But then once it clicks, it clicks...and it feels really ******* good to not be a slave to the ISO:FT boards...

Good luck.

It's easy to get carried away sometimes. Sorry to hear about your traders remorse, but it happens. There will always be new beers.

It's all good! I am lucky enough to have found someone in Pgh who wants to try the blabaer much more than I do, so it worked out for me. Beer trading can be so addicting.

I feel like I've finally hit that point. Trading has been awesome and I've been able to try over 1,200 different beers at this point, probably 25% of which came from trading, but after a while I found that I was spending too much time searching reddit/beeradvocate. I kind of went wild with these voodoo beers since they're pretty hot on the market but I was able to track down some of my few remaining tick beers (lpf, LPK, ddg, and some SP stuff). I think that I'm going to deactivate my beeradvocate account after I close out my remaining IP trades so that I'm not tempted to trade anymore haha.

/intervention, fellas ...he said he'll accept treatment.
Oh god, what did I get myself into now haha. Anyone down for a kickback share Saturday night? I'll bring a bunch of stuff and would like to cut down on my bottles. I should have my Tete de cuvee by the end of the week and would like to share the experience

Blabaer's been a longtime want of mine. Lmk if you want to get together sometime and each drink half a blabaer and half an mbp.

Edit: didn't read your follow up post. I guess pass that offer on to whoever you're trading the blabaer to. :)
