Edgar's Tacos in the Strip District is probably my current favorite. And I'm not entirely sure what the proper genre of food it is, but I love Smoke Taqueria on Butler Street in Lawrenceville as well.

Edgar's is more like a food stand with limited street seating, while Smoke is a cool trendy L'ville eatery.

I 2nd Edgar's

He's so excited about BA Hala Kahiki that it's triggering his internet tourettes.

Nope.

I have a plan. If we act fast, we can prevent this abomination from getting packaged. Prohibition style *******!

visited SARA today. holy **** is it a PITA to get there... if u are one of those ******* in the north hills who can't brave the trek to spoonwood, just resign to the truth that u'll never experience this place.

everything was pretty OK to almost exceptional to exceptional. i left with a growler of their "oatmeal ipa" aka haze bomb since i've been going through brewgentlemen withdrawal (BG hoppy stuff is better FYI). missed bottles of west ashley by a day :/ (but i texted my new uber driver friend ({see other post about 5-10 pages ago for back-story}), and he said he has some, so maybe i will get to taste it!:):):):))

snagged (read: purchased) 3 bottles each of lady in grey and farmhouse noir that i * look forward to * sharing with u fgts in a couple weeks.

[* this part is a lie]
I was out that way last week and went to SARA. Thought everything was good, except their saison. Their mixed culture and barrels must do wonders to that beer to make it so hyped. Oddly enough their porter might be the best one I've had in my life. Also missed out on West Ashley by a day. Got some bottles of lady in grey though.

That's gotta be the only Top 40 song to ever contain the word "placenta", right?

Sergeant O'Leary is walkin' the beat
At night he becomes a bartender
He works at Mister Cacciatore's down
On Sullivan Street
Across from his mother's placenta
He's tradin' in his Chevy for a Cadillac
You oughta know by now
And if he can't drive
With a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders

Resident Mexican chiming in - the only places worth mentioning here are La Palapa, Las Palmas, and Reyna's/Edgar's. Taako, Smoke, Round Corner, and that half vegan place on the northside don't even belong in the conversation. I would rather get plain steak tacos from Emilanos, Mad Mex, Campesinos, etc before a $6 kimchi dust wagyu hamburger tacos with local feta served in a flour tortilla from the latter four any day of the week.

Some ******* things in life should be sacred - and one of those things are tacos.

Again, very confused.
