I think they reasonable I mean a good size burrito for 11$ not going to find anything much cheaper then that.I am still pretty irritated by how bad and expensive Mad Mex is. Can someone recommend a good Mexican restaurant around town? I have an itch that needs a scratching.

Not Saying it is the best Mexican out there but for a chain restaurant with good drink specials and a good armosphere I think it is reasonable.$11 for a burrito I can make at home is not a good value to me (i am not a cook but i have made something better at my house just by messing around). They have so little flavor to their food, even if it was $8 it wouldn't be a good value. The black beans are really dry 99% of the time and the only attempt they make at flavoring seems to be with the meat.
Buddy in Harrisburg just told me that Nimble Giant is now officially a once a year release, pounder cans, and a July release.
Mad Mex isn't really Mexican, so being irritated that there aren't $2 street tacos might be an unfair exercise to put yourself through.
No.
la palapa on e Carson st is good. Las palmas grocery store in Brookline has a taco cart out front that is pretty nice. Haven't had a bad meal at patron either.
I second La Palapa.
I think Emiliano's in Hampton is good, but I'm not a Mexican food snob.
I am not asking for $2 street tacos and yes i know, its half assed tex-mex. Just really over priced. There is a chain in Florida called Tijuana Flats. They make solid but not great tex-mex food. You know what you are getting and the burritos are $7-8 for some good flavor.
Looks like Portland isn't bitching about Fat Heads opening there anymore.

Appreciate the suggestions. I am not a Mexican food snob, just always on the lookout for a reasonable Mexican place in the city that I live in. It is a go to meal for me, from time to time.
Local distro only though. Won't matter for you and I as we have hook ups but it sucks for others here.

And please trust that I'm not giving you ****, but Tijuana Flats is like a nicer Moe's or Qdoba. Don't think it's a good comparison to Mad Mex.
Dude, Mad Mex isn't great quality food so it is closer to T Flats than one would care to admit

Edit: I started the sentence off with "dude"......ugh

Honest question, because haven't been to a TFs in a while (and not that often to begin with): what kind of beers do they have on usually? And don't you feel their square footage is less than that of MM's and their menu much smaller? Think TFs has a fast-casual feel to it; don't think I would feel comfortable sitting down with a party of twelve, half of it kids, and sit and talk/drink for over an hour at a TFs.
While on the subject of Things That Only Nate Likes, I got to try that Funky Monkey from East End last night & I really liked it. It's got more depth & roundness than most Berliners, with a little vanilla & oak character.OneDropSoup Your dream is here -![]()
