Speaking of those mega rare wishlist beers. I imagine you can't really trade for one unless you have something equally as rare which then you'd be damn lucky to have 2 of? The people who deal in that **** are just next level I think. I've been fortunate enough to have a lot of good "rare" (loosely) beers but those old one off loons etc, I don't even know what it would take to get something like a Don Q unless you straight bought it I imagine?

do growlers / other smaller containers need to have the silly govt disclaimer on them to be filled? I have east end's 64 oz insulated that has it, but if i get a smaller version from the company that makes theirs (fifty fifty), it won't

Strongly believe that they do. And think this (in past instances) led to some brand-only growler fill policies. A few of the more user-friendly breweries got around this by rubber-banding paper government warnings onto guest growlers.

Stuff like Don Q is just on a different level. I don't even think about beers like that because they are just impossible to obtain. I'd never have enough rare beer to pull one so I'd have to buy one, which I would never do because how expensive they are.

The beers people posted on here for their wish lists aren't like that. Stuff like Blabaer, Zenne, BVDL... Yeah, they may be hard to get but they aren't really rare. You could get pretty much every single beer people mentioned in this thread as their white whale by trading the bottles from BRC4, which you could easily pick up for several days in two locations for a reasonable price.

That is not a bad price to pay if any of those beers were a long-time want of mine. And I know for a fact that a lot of those beers could be had for less than a full set. All about finding the right set of eyes.

Someone on this website posted a picture of this tasting that they did a few weeks ago. I don't even know what half of these bottles are, yet I would burn a village of special needs children to the ground and then punch my mother just to get a chance to sniff the empties (I kid, I kid).

Yeah definitely agree with that last part. I was just saying about the next level ****.

I could probably offer every voodoo barrel room beer and still not come close to don q I imagine

Probably wouldn't get you very close at all.

The people that still have those bottles are probably keeping them for shares and are of the mentality that they wouldn't trade a lambic for anything but another rare lambic.

The thing is, I've never even heard of half the **** that is really coveted. Like that bottle on the bottom, right most in the basket? It's called Eszett and is just some German guy called Uli who blended lambics himself. His blends are usually all crazy low bottle counts and typically only given to friends or whatever.

Agreed. Its just mind blowingly next level when you think about how all of us would trade to get one of every BRC (or even sub in whatever - All the Gratitudes, etc) Where as that doesn't even make someone with these lambics think about it.

You would barely be halfway there TBH.

I knew I could count on you to chime in with your valuation and advice :-D

Starting probably right after the Pens game is over, the Warriors will be trying to make history and Kobe Bryant plays his last game. Even though I find him to be an insufferable prick, I do respect the man's career and it's crazy to think that just about all of the big sports icons from my younger years (Manning, Jeter, Kobe) will be done. Definitely makes you feel old.

Also, I'm pretty sure that no one in Pittsburgh gives a **** about the NBA. :D
