Draai laag releasing normal beers, wtf

I'm not sure I'd refer to a spontaneous fruit beer as "normal", but it's a step in the right direction. There's a reason brewers typically start out with the easier styles and work their way up in ccomplexity. DL just totally missed that memo. Maybe they're working backwards and will be specializing in English bitters in a few years

I happened to be out in the North Eastern boonies of Pittsburgh while I was up for the holidays.

Went to Conny Creek - They were about 2/6 in beers that I would even finish a 12oz of if I had already paid for it. 0/6 on beers I would purchase again.

Also went to Cellar Works - That place is truly a diamond in the rough and a hidden secret and I hope it stays that way for selfish reasons. Mainly all European stlye beers, but all very well done. After having a somewhat lengthy conversation with one of the brewers, it sounds like they're finding those styles aren't going to pay the bills for very long, so they'll be shortly changing about 75% of their lines to hops, non-kettle sours, and Imperial Stouts. Kind of a shame that things have to go in that direction for them, but given the quality and precision of their classic beers, I think they are sure to be a dark horse in Pittsburgh in the next few years.

It's like meeting the man of your dreams, then meeting his beautiful wife.

On the topic of local beers, i finally wrapped my mouth around some BG Zwick last night an really enjoyed it.

Also chugged a 16oz can of DG Cream Ale. Not my fav cream ale but i thought it was mad decent.

For real I advise yall to get lit AF on BG and DG ASAP this weekend w/Serbian Santa Clause, sleigh word.

They plan to pay the bills with cold-side sours?

I know right!? I guess they feel like there are enough pulpy fruit juice w/ lactic acid and sour ipa cookie cereal hot side sour beers coming out of Sharpsburg to fill the demand of the entire city.
Just that 6- to 24-month ferms, possibly barrel-aged, don't scream "get rich quick".

But that gimmicky ******** just made a "top xxx" list so it must be right...right?

Currently drinking a bottle that I bought at Cellar Works, a Belgian Dark Ale aged in Red Wine barrels with brett. Has all of the funk qualities of a great flanders without the vinegar acidity, so damn good.

On a side note, BG Zwick is the tits.

That is all.

Has anyone heard of Devout Brewing in Murrysville? When you click on the "Our Story" link on their website, it brings you to this. No story, no text, nothing. Just this dude chilling on his patio. I mean, what the ****?

That might be an ASP.Net Error Page and I'm assuming it's intentional. Like "site is broken, similar to my ankle" sort of thing but it seems to be site-wide.
