My dad just called me and said there's still 200 people in line. He didn't even bother getting out of the car either. Unfortunately lustra is his favorite beer but at least it's a regular.

I thought Double Lustra was pretty terrible. Standing in line for IPAs is pretty laughable to begin with but when it's for that, I can't help but shake my head. I went down there last night and Bee Balm was pretty great. Nicest body I've had on an IPA in quite some time.

Both Poppy and Bee Balm were really nice IMO.

I am officially old and disgruntled.

I stopped by my local Giant Eagle a few days ago when my in-laws were in town. While going down the aisle I saw a singles section with some Foreign Objects 16 oz can and a Single Cut Softly Spoken something or another. I think "cool, I'd like to try those..." until I see they are $5.99 a can. Yes, I've paid more, but just something about $6 cans of IPAs at the grocery store rubs me the wrong way.

I have been digging Yellow Bridge and loved their Midnight Luau coconut stout. Swung by there on Friday to fill some growlers and grabbed two of the stout since i had company coming. I was telling them how good it was and open it up to find out it is their extremely mediocre porter. I opened the second one and it was the same thing...

I then saw this morning the new tax on beer bought at breweries going into effect on January 1st. That kinda sucks...

Do you need a hug?

That tax wont help PA's already high prices. I hate to think of how this will affect all the breweries popping up around town and the surrounding areas.

The fortunate thing is, you have enough breweries putting out a decent product all over the greater Pittsburgh area. I let singlecut know it was ridiculous when the cans came to my market at $9 a can. They can keep their mediocre haziness at that price.

I'm convinced PA's prices are the worst in the country. I'm going to santa fe in a few days and beer looks like it's up to 30% less than here. Vermont is crazy cheap too. Cases of Sierra Nevada pale ale up there are like $24.

I must have missed this. Can either of you link to this info on the tax?

Thanks. I thought that might be it, I did review that publication earlier. I honestly couldn't recall if breweries are already charging sales tax? I initially thought so but then realized I might just be thinking of the Allegheny tax.
That would compound for breweries in Allegheny county, so 14% on brewery beer purchases. Looks like we are heading for $30/4-packs

I'm probably missing something because even the publication "intended to explain and clarify in plain language" does a pretty poor job, but I keep reading this Tax Bulletin - Sales and Use Tax 2018-02 as simply discussing state sales tax and not an additional 6% tax. I THINK this is just clarifying the calculation method(s)?

So we haven't been paying sales tax on beer at breweries all these years? I find that hard to believe.

They're pouring it in the taproom for $4 a pint, to which I say the eff yes.

Except that it’s just not that good. Would it kill them to get some ******* head retention on a beer? Mouthfeel carb seems okay, just absence of head. Looks like a cup of pee.

That said I like DG and hope they continue to experiment with lager.

You're looking at the $3 version. The $4 one I had on site had head & tasted good.

I bought the bigger can and it's providing good head.

Anybody have any extra dg hops I could buy or trade for? Doing an IP trade with an out of towner who expressed interest in them, and I'm allergic to lines.
