weldworks has a really nice brewery that was totally worth the hour drive from denver if you're ever out there

Never been but if I ever go I definitely will. I have a buddy who always sends me a box full of their stuff every time he makes it out there. I frickin' love Juicy Bits.

Why not? He might actually shoot something.

Taking back my hype-man job from tommyguz

That makes the list 3Sons, Angry Chair, The Answer, Casa Agria, Cycle, Jackie O's, Kent Falls, Mikkeller SD, Oskar Blues, Perrin, Weldwerks, Bottle Logic, J. Wakefield, Great Notion, and Flora Fonta so far ... WOW!

Baby steps pal. Maybe try driving your Dodge Ram down to the Southside and seeing how that goes before planning a trip to Colorado.

Are there any other details on Good Vibes besides the fact that it's in July and the 15 or so breweries they've announced? Dates? How they'll handle ticket sales? Etc.?

Absolutely, here's some good info for you:

Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels. Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the “loser,” and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round. I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world. Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment. When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3×5 card reading, “Please use this M&M for breeding purposes.” This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of plain M&Ms. I consider this “grant money.” I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the True Champion. There can be only one.

Decided there was enough in common (galaxy/citra and roughly 8% ABV) between Beyond Infinity and S&S #4 to drink them side by side (thanks preluderl)

I don’t know if I suck at beer or something but I didn’t even think it was close. DG was way more interesting. More flavor, more aroma. I enjoyed the mouthfeel on the S&S immensely I must say...but that’s just mouthfeel. Overall, while very good, I’d say it was forgettable compared to DG.

Obvious homerism and what not, so take with a grain of salt. On that note...Go Stillers.

You're silly. The S&S4 is about 7 weeks old at this point too.

Hey can we get some #scotchtalk.com going for a sec? Looking for some recommendations for a bottle of scotch to bring for Thanksgiving. Its the drink of choice of my uncle that is going to be there, so I dont mind spending a few bucks. I dont know a ton about scotch, but I know I lean towards the peater (sp?) side of things. Guess its the smoked beer fan in me.

Does your uncle like peat too?

If yes, what’s your price range?

If you really like peat go with Big Peat. I enjoyed this somewhat until I visited my friend's apartment building which had just suffered a house fire. My friend was an artist and as such the building was filled with many chemicals used in photo development and painting. Apparently, when you set those chemicals on fire, put the fire out and wait a week you get the exact same smell in a building that you will get with a freshly opened bottle of Big Peat. For some reason I was no longer able to enjoy this scotch so my now wife and I forced her friend to drink it as the price of admission every time he visited us. This worked for a while until he grew a spine. We no longer invite him over.

I guess what I am saying is...maybe try Ardbeg? Tends to go over well and doesn't drink like a Boston house fire. Laphroaig and Lagavulin are also good choices.

so dudes in the pgh fb group are all up in arms about someone buying a case of bcbs northwoods yesterday rather than leaving some for everyone else. since when was buying a case too much? i'd jump at the chance to buy a case of something i really like if it was at normal retail price.

Cause everyone always thinks that they were entitled to buy those bottles.

I’m just wondering if they will get slapped on the wrist from GI because it wasn’t hidden they were selling early.

i will say the one thing that irks me is if you walk into DG and ask for the cans after they've sold out and some goober is sitting at the bar staring at you glassy eyed with a whole case in front of him. i wouldn't ever hesitate to share in that situation.

Seriously. These people bring their significant others to mule releases for them and then complain about no limits on retail beer

Was somewhere else selling bcbs early, or did someone pay gateway price for a whole case of northwood?
