Excellent question

Also - do you know how to post gifs? That will hasten the full blown shuggy experience for you.

Not sure how to embed them.

And where is this shuggy character?

Tough to explain. Are you familiar with Jacques Vallee's interdimensional hypothesis? Visitations from entities from other "realities" or "dimensions" that coexist separately alongside our own?

If not, no worries. Lets just say he's in Butler.

I am actually.

I listen to the Joe Rogan podcast regularly... so clearly im #woke

This speaks volumes. I hate them significantly and have been there three times.
Whats your gripe with them?

I have friends who have been there alot who say nothing but good things.

What are all your favorite breweries around the city?

I dont think anything can touch brew gentlemen personally.
I like hitchhiker alot though.

Got directed over here from a nice fellow on beer advocate.

You will find the sentiments regarding BA here are . . . well . . . less than warm.

Nice to find people from the city talking about beer, its nonexistent on that site.

Don't talk about beer TOO much, though. That'll get you in trouble. ;)

Seriously, though, here are some ways to ensure that you're well received on TB:

1) Tell me to **** off and/or go away whenever possible

2) Build up a library of meaningless and ridiculous gifs and use them as responses to posts that you don't like. Even if they don't make sense as a response, still use them.

3) Don't start any new threads. All the threads that are needed have already been created. So sayeth the Lord.

4) Don't have any opinions of your own. Hivemind ONLY here.

5) Make sure to stroke-off anyone who has been here since the "early days". They're always right, even if they're not.

In other words, it's just like BA, but without the silly, over-the-top moderation. You also can't say ****, ******, or retard without it coming out homie. Just a heads up.

Enjoy and, as always, Respect Beer!

Go **** yourself

Their beers are WILDLY inconsistent and Dennis is a ponce. Yeah . . . that'll do.

What are all your favorite breweries around the city?

Brew Gentlemen, Dancing Gnome, Grist House, Insurrection, Helicon. Voodoo is up there, too, but not top tier, IMO, except for their Barrel Room stuff. Well . . . some of it.

I dont think anything can touch brew gentlemen personally.

They're good, but others are certainly catching up.

I like hitchhiker alot though.

They're . . . umm . . . getting better.

Shuggy hates both those brewers (as well as any other Pittsburgh brewery), will insult the taste & intelligence of anyone who likes those brewers, & seems to occasionally make an effort to convince others that BG are actually bad people. In person he's fairly agreeable, which is irrelevant to most of us most of the time.

P.S. - I had to look up what a "ponce" is...

Whats your gripe with them?

I'm torn between a short answer and a long one.

I'll try a bulleted technique:

1. Dennis is pretentious AF and subscribes to the craft beer misnomer that weird = good (see: ice cream, treasure chest yeast, etc.), which has really run it's course for me.
2. Their beer descriptions and public-facing communication in general is terrible and condescending.
3. Sour beer should not be double digits in ABV.
4. Their beer is generally extremely acetic and makes me dry heave.
5. They don't know how to make good beer.
6. Their beer is bad.

In conclusion, they make ****** beer. Which is a shame because their pricing might be the best in the city...probably have to though so as not to undercut their Shelton Bros contract.

I need to get to dancing gnome. Thats on the top of the list. Might go with the lady saturday.

I havent had anything from grist house that has wowed me.. but I havent been to their location, it looks legit. Need to try insurrection, theyre over between bridgeville and carnegie right?

Worth the trip. Cool little place. Dodgy parking, though. You like cloudy IPAs, right?

Grist House's hoppy offerings are stellar, IMO. As is their imperial stout.

Insurrection's over in Heidelberg. Right next to the Police Station.

ooh yeah. My favorite beer type.. this new so called NEIPA style.

Just got some Fuzzy Baby Ducks from a guy up north, very solid version of that style, but BG stuff is definitely better. If youve never seen the can its worth a google. Hilarious.

I need to get my hands on some treehouse and alchmeist stuff. Ive never had a chance to even try heady topper. Noone will trade that stuff over on BA. fuckers

I hope sarcasm comes off well here.

It doesn't.

What are all your favorite breweries around the city?

I keep forgetting about Mindful. Their house beers are solid and guest taps can border on fantastic. Never eaten there, though, so all the negative feels about their service is something that I can't corroborate. Bartenders are plenty attentive, though.
