Considering today is game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, let's reminisce about the era in which the Cubs were last significant, shall we?

This is what airplanes looked like the last time the Cubs won something important (as opposed to a single game on 6/8):

Here was the red/blue split when Taft got elected the year that the Cubs last won a championship:

Telegraph messages were still being used when the Cubs could last be called champions of anything...here's a really weird example of one from 1908 transmitted by Alec:

Slow day at the office?

I formed a relationship with a poster here on TB who once posted an ISO for Mammoth. Have traded him BG DIPAs a few times since. Sent him Mammoth and Albatross, will be sending him Akamai when it hits.
So your sometimes consists of one person. What did you get in return?

What does Dinner trade for? Like TH levels? I'm so far out of the game.

I go to Maine every year for Vacation. Last time I went to MBC, they just happened to have Dinner on tap. I guess this was two Summers ago now. What a ******* great beer. And it's also clear and West Coast style. I didn't even know that was legal anymore...

Higher than Tree House. Like Double Sunshine level.

Do you people trade for Blind Pig? That's a delicious ******* beer if i remember my humble opinion correctly.
I included it in my blind hops tasting. All of us had previously enjoyed it but it didn't fare too well.

Looks like I better set up an ISO:FT then.

(For Pliny...which is still pretty much just as good as Dinner, which I cannot trade for.)

It still holds up remarkably well against the next generation of hoppy beers. Pliny is flawless and a hell of a lot easier to get your hands on.

I wasn't aware there was such a level.

One time I traded for Tree House, I got 10 cans for ~3 Jackie O's beers ($4$). The 1 time I got Double Sunshine, I got it plus some other Lawsons (I think 3 SoS and a Super Session) for a CCCBBVD + extras to make up for $ differential. People ask for some odd things for Tree House IPAs but I haven't found them too hard to pull, or at least as hard as people make them out to be. Lots of people in CT are regulars and reasonable.

To the BG IPA trades, there was about 3-4 ISOs I saw 2-3 weeks ago on BA and Reddit. I sent away a Foshomo and what was supposed to be an Albatross 750 but it kicked so I have to make up for that soon for a Julius, 2 Bright, and an Opus Vert. Bright was nice. Opus Vert is really enjoyable, right up your alley Shug. Julius disappointed yet again but was slightly better than the 2 previous times I had it.

I'd be interested to hear what the top 5 or so were. Either consensus or just personal.
Mine were Pliny, OH Get Wheated, TH Lights On, HH Roller Blabe and South of Eleven. Bottom feeders were PseudoSue and Julius.
Can't remember what nhindian jeevo Grodd87 lists were but Pliny did very well amongst everybody. I was the only one who knew what any of the beers were.

It was split into two waves which makes it hard to compare them all (but was pretty much necessary)

In order, mine were

TreeHouse - Lights On
Hoof Hearted - Roller Blade
Surly - Todd the Axeman
Mark's Homebrew
Bosque - Scale Tipper
Russian River - Blind Pig

Second wave:
Russian River - Pliny the Elder
Alchemist - Heady Topper
Hoof Hearted - South of Eleven
Other Half - Get Wheated
Trillium - Double Dry Hop Sleeper Street
Toppling Goliath - Xhops Gold
Tree House - Julius
Toppling Goliath - PseudoSue

Beerwanderer any chance you can setup a TV in the cafe so I can just watch the game there tonight?

GEMDX in Peters doesn't, but wish they did as well. There ample seating and no one would think to go there for a game, which is kind of why I'd like to go drink four buck pints by my lonesome. Until Mad Mex opens, there is no where else to retreat to for such things.
