NYC Bar / Bottle Shop / Brewery recs:
These are all over the place as I have no idea what you guys will be doing, most are downtown Manhattan, some mid town and outer boroughs:
In no apparent order
Bar - The blind tiger: Amazing place, awesome bartenders. I've had cantillon, Lawson's, HF any pretty much anything you've ever wanted there. General tap list can be hit or miss, but worth a look. Their food is good and it's in a fun area for night life.
Bottle Shop - New Beer Distributors (sketchy place but you can find some gems, make sure you check bottle dates for anything you want fresh)
Bottle Shop - Whole Foods Bowery Beer room - awesome staff, huge selection and cheapest prices in Manhattan.
Bottle Shop - Whole foods in Brooklyn (My beer hookup moved there to run that store from the Bowery, he was awesome and their prices were lower than I've ever found). Basically the whole foods in Manhattan if they have a good beer manager kill it.
Bottle Shop / Bar - Top Hops - nice selection of bottles and drafts
Bar - One Mile House - Always has a killer draft list, often find HF and other gems there
Bar - Fools Gold - Always has a killer draft list, often find HF and other gems there
Bottle Shop / Bar? - Good Beer Co. - nice bottle selection but a bit pricey
Bar - The Jeffrey - Same owners as fools gold and just a killer place for cocktails(onsite mixologist who kills it) and they are often found having HF and other goodies on tap. Amazing bar food as well.
Bar - The Gingerman - has the most taps in Manhattan and has a really good offering / varied selection
Bar - Proletariat - another place that gets killer tap lists.
Bottle Shop / Bar - Bierkraft in Brooklyn has a great selection, can be pricey sometimes
Bar - Torst - insane food and bottle list, if you hit it right you can try some unreal beers on tap. They often do a lot of cool tap takeovers that no where else in the city does.
Brewery - Three's Brewing - pumping out some amazing styles, probably the best Berliner I've ever had. Their IPA/DIPA game is on point as well.
Brewery - Other Half - some great brews, pricey though and some of their beers are just a miss with me, but others a huge hit- YMMV and I recommend trying it out - their tasting room is the size of a shoebox though, be prepared to hug a hipster.
Brewery - Finback - putting out some awesome stuff, never made it to their tap room before I left though.
Brewery - Single cut - highly under rated, you act get bombers of their ipa/dipa's for $6 bucks. they've consistently improved from a "meh" to a wow, this is from Singlecut?!?!
Avoid Beer table pantry in grand central - they wanted something like $125 for a bottle of A deal with the devil, every bottle is consistently 3-5 times the price anywhere else. I worked near there and would often go in to see what was new as they must have the hookup because they have every "hot" bottle coming in.
I know I am missing a few, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any other questions just shoot me a PM and I can help.
If you want food or cocktail joint recs, that's a whole other story (The Little owl is my favorite place in NYC for food in case you care). Tons of food places that always change.
Hope that helps you guys
