Dark Lord actually has a FG of 1.2000 amirite?

I've seen guys get readings of 1.070-1.085 of different dark lord degassed samples.

Holy DIABeeeetus

Did you guys have draft or bottle this year? I had it on draft & found it a little off, with a kind of squashy note to it, but by no means awful.

Bottle.

Both this year and last I, from fresh bottles, I got a very underwhelming hop presence - aroma was just not there like it had been in the past and the taste was almost bordering on the onion thing.

So no one wants me to bring them back any Dark Lord this weekend? Rats. I was hoping 1:1 with MBP

Me.

aha!

Old Ale though...that's something different. I'll take it. Anyone know what kind of oak barrels?

What kind of oak is there besides French, White and Slavonian

Suspect French Oak, but possibly American White Oak*

*Disclaimer: I know almost nothing about oak

All I know is there's something in it called vanillin that makes things taste like vanilla

Is Rye BM really going for 2 Framboos's? I see someone trying to do that on the other site and I was like hmm

Ask your boy basicksickness ?

I'm curious to try it, but not enough to buy a 4 pack.

I'll probably get some of the Space Juice if possible. Had a Limbo IPA a while back that was not right at all. Banana cardboard with no hops if I recall correctly. Always thought they were a decent brewery though. Anyone know if the dates on Long Trail bottlenecks are "bottled on" or best by?

I think Nate and I talked about this with other draai laag brews that they labeled lambic. It's not lambic. Why don't they just call it American wild (cue the American wild talk).
Dennis from Draai Laag has told me that he's opposed to calling them lambic.

Maybe because its more appealing to their audience that way . (This is a joke, Im pretty sure Ive told the story to a few of you about this and some will get it, others will not).

Am I thinking of something else? I had thought one of the briars was listed on untappd as a lambic and I questioned it and you mentioned that it was how draai laag referred to it. I could be way off, obviously.

May have been prior to the conversation in which I brought this point up with him.

So speaking of Draai Laag, I'm having their Apple & Pears right now. Judging from this & the past few beers I've had from them, their house flavor seems to be lavendar hand soap & band-aids, then accompanied by whatever other ingredients they add.

That is from the 1950s bathroom cabinet that they fermented it in.

I think that's the one that has hay, allspice, somespice, pineapple sage, honey, cabinet, bamboo, bamboo water, and grapple juice.

They have wrongly labeled a lot of their beers as Lambics on their own menu's. It's happened so much no way is it an oversight by now. I was at Draai Laag before I knew any better and the owner called in because someone reviewed their beer on untapped and said how it wasn't a lambic and he was furious about it and went on for a good 5 minutes asking if the person who reviewed the beer was still there if they had his name etc. I decided to check untapped to see what this guy said to make someone that mad and found the review which was 3.5 out of 5 and the guy literally just said "Not sure why they call this a lambic, it's not lambic"

...was that me? Gonna have to look back. That sounds similar to what I wrote and rated.
