I'll join the "dream beer" conversation...

For a long time it was Nooner 8. Having had BA Hazelnut now, the allure is gone. For a long time, old BMs were a pipe dream. Now I just need a PVW to make that happen, so I'll throw that on the list. A few others are Chez Monus, A&T, CD11, Mimosa, DB Damon... Certainly the list just goes on. BVDL was intriguing to me until I tried regular Dark Lord. Hate that beer and the thought of barrels and vanilla beans sweetening it even more triggers my gag reflex.

I got to drink mine (Cable Car) while on a trip last year when I visited Toronado in Seattle. I still very much want to possess a bottle someday. Others on the list include Blåbær (I struggle with the fact that people say it is not as good as other Cantillons along with the asking price) and A&T.

Just curious if you might have meant Toronado in San Fran? If there's one in Seattle I need to know.

I brought this up before and I'll say it again here - your Treehouse beers must have been mishandled. I've throughly enjoyed every single Treehouse beer I've had (like 10 at this point), both hoppy stuff and stouts. My one buddy that goes up there often is very VERY particular about how his beer is handled - always has a cooler with ice. As Joe said, Green is fantastic.

Oh. And Good Morning is smack your mammy good.

I've always really wanted to try Julius, but what people demand for them on the forums is kind of absurd and I don't have a connection up there. I gave up on it.

I get it here and there from my guy. I'm also singing in a wedding in June up there and am taking some vacation for a few days to hang out and hit up TH/Trillium a few times. Next time I get Julius I'll make sure I pass it along to you.

Wow the memes and gifs and total lack of moderation is definitely a step in the direction of less stupidity.

What's definitely not stupidity is taking pictures of your beers while flipping off the camera with weird fingers

Edit: Beat me to it. I'm always hiding in the weeds to capitalize on stupid jokes.

What's this mean? That if it isn't transported from the brewery to its destination in a cooler with ice, it's mishandled? What about when it's in the box on the truck to get to me? If a beer is that fragile that it goes from allegedly mind-blowing to just okay if it isn't temperature controlled from start to finish, then I'll be more than happy to just trade for Pliny and drink that.

I'm not making a judgment call since I've only had it once, but still. We had Lights On that same night and it was the unanimous best IPA in that group. Maybe Julius just isn't all that.

Well considering Tree House doesn't distribute their beers so they don't see trucks, moot point. But I do agree with you about Pliny.

However. After the smallest amount of internetting, you guys had your treehouse cans in August. Let's say an average August temperature in our region is 80. Plenty of ways this could go very wrong - trunk of a car, sitting in a FedEx facility, sitting outside before someone got home, many more. When a group of dudes try the same batch of beers that travelled together that receive much higher ratings/"hype", it seems to me like an anomaly. So much of an anomaly that someone would make a post in the trading questions forum about it.

And I'm sure you all have exquisite palletes and everything. But your ******* cans were off. That's it.

We had the blind tasting 2 weeks ago. I think Mike said he had it a few months ago, then again from the same batch we tried (on his own).

Shrug. I don't have an axe to grind against Tree House and I really liked Lights On. I may trade for Julius just to try it again, but I'm not going to bend over backwards to get it. Looks like there is a release tomorrow, maybe I'll toss something out to grab some.

We had them 10 days ago. What was the temperature then? You should stick to just giving advice about pizza and tacos in Chicago.

And to be fair, I think ive given Julius the lowest rating out of all of them. I forgot to mention that earlier.
