Happy Monday everyone. Taking a trip to Philly in a few weeks and wanted everyone's opinion on which breweries would be the best to hit. I'm looking for ones that are more family friendly than not.

I think we will be making a stop on our way out at Monk's but am unsure if there are other bottle shops worth stopping for.

Thanks in advance 🍻

while you're in the neighborhood, you have to have brunch, lunch or dinner at johnnybrendas. We used to go every week with kid in tow.

JB's has a sister restaurant called the standard tap, also really good, next door to the tap is an overpriced bottle shop, with a really good selection, http://www.fooderybeer.com/. If you're in center city, there is another really good overpriced bottle shop, http://thecornerfoodery.com/. they usually have some really cool stuff on tap. Nodding Head also has some good beers, http://www.ripsneakers.com/nodding/ Also new on the scene is Tria taproom http://www.triacafe.com/taproom/
That being said, philly is a great beer town, enjoy

Not too far from Philly is Victory, best brewery in the area. You can get there via train or car. Train you can get on the Thorndale line at 30th street station, Suburban station or Market East.

Victory and Troegs (Nugget Nectar), but that would be a bit out of your way (1:30). Yards has a tasting room right outside center city.

Bottle Shops: Beer Heaven in Philly. They have all of the good stuff. Pinocchio's in Media, Pa has a great selection too.

Troegs was a great time when we went a few weeks ago. I think Yards may be the winner this time. And Beer Heaven sounds well...like heaven. 🍻 thanks

For the record, victory doesn't do tours. And the restaurant thing is only ok, but is probably better suited for a family.

Last time I was there (awhile ago) yards had a quick tour and now they added a tasting room. It's probably the best bet for something easy and low key.

Monks is a good place to go, and probably wouldn't be bad for a family during the day time.

Any of the foodery stores probably have the best bottle selection, but they are expensive.

@2legs- I read that Monks doesn't allow children. Is that for their entire establishment or just the bar area? I was hoping to stop at Monks to buy bottles on our way out of Philly.
