I purchased this Hannah Enzymatic cleaner to clean my Hach Pocket Pro+.

The instructions call for 75ml solution and 1 packet of included powder.

They give you 3 packets.

So basically I will get 3 cleanings per bottle.

This doesn't seem very economical or practical.

Any better recommendations would be appreciated.

In another thread Zymit is being discussed. Thus is about $30 (IIRC) for a liter but to use it requires 1 - 2 mL in 100 mL warm water. So 50 - 100 cleanings for ~ $30.

I use Hanna protein cleaner in a 500mL bottle with 6 sachets of catalyst. I mixed 75mL of the solution and one sachet of the powder in a glass jar. I use a small amount of the mixed cleaner in the sample cup of my Pocket Pro+. From the mixed cleaning solution, I use a small amount in the meter's cup toss that amount only and continue using the mixed solution until gone and make up some more. It has been working fine...at least as far as I can tell.

****NOTE: I sent an email to Hanna asking them about storing the pre-mixed cleaner. I'll make a post when they respond.

Update: Talked with sales rep at Hanna. He said he was told the mixed solution would degrade over a short time. Told him I saved the mixed solution, he said it should be ok for short periods but monitor its effectiveness. Humm.....that's hard to monitor I think.

Bottom line, I think we need to look for a less expensive option.
