Hi All,
Question for you. What is the liquid inside these cheaper PH Meters?
I made a 5 gallon batch and had just tried out this new PH meter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EZ68DO4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But, as soon as i put it in my Mash Tun (152F) the probe popped.
Im not worried about glass or anything as there is not way it would have been filtered from the top of the grain bed into the boil kettle, but what is the liquid? Its obviously a very small amount ppm, but i want to be sure the batch would be safe.
On a side note, are these PH meters not to be used at that temperature?
I've seen other videos of people using their cheaper meter directly in the mash with no problems.. Is it just me?
As a disclaimer, this is the first batch i've ever had a PH meter, so yes i am not knowledgeable about this stuff.
