Does anyone have a recipe for Pete's Winter? Was one of my favorite beers and I wanted to give it a shot...any ideas?
 
I was a big fan of this beer, but i can't for the life of me remember what it tastes like. anyways, here's a recipe that i found (no idea if it is any good). please post any other recipes

7.00 lb Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 53.85 %
5.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 38.46 %
0.50 lb Carafa II (412.0 SRM) Grain 3.85 %

3 lbraspberries at knockout - (omitted from calculations)
2 tspnutmeg - (omitted from calculations)
2 tspirish moss - (omitted from calculations)
White Labs WLP001 California Ale
 
I finally tried this and I tried the 2nd recipe.
Unfortunately I tried it with the raspberry extract instead of actual raspberries.
It didn’t come out great: In general it tastes similar but the raspberry extract was an issue: it came out too strong. And then when I waited a few months for it to settle down the raspberry came out very chemical tasting.
At this point it’s getting dumped once I need the space. I’ll try it again next year with real raspberries.
 
I tried it again with frozen raspberries this time added after a week into the primary. It tastes good, but, slightly off. Its been a month since I bottled it. The flavor tastes a little more raspberry up front and less kind of hearty on the back end. I'm hopeful that after another month or two as the flavors continue to settle that it'll get even better.
But, definitely a keeper regardless.
