You should have my portion as well Coffee, thanks. So has the order gone in yet or we're still waiting to confirm some people?

I'm giving Wino another hour or so to confirm -- if he doesn't, he'll have to wait until the next order.

No word from Wino, so Lenny is in. We're all set with 42 bags. I'm calling NCM now for a quote.

Cool -- I called and Trish asked me to email the details over and she'll send back a quote. Hopefully that will happen today.

18 gallons of love is getting ready to boil over here in Brooklyn! Bulk grain = lots of good cheap beer!

I got a quote but the prices seemed high, like she charged us homebrew catalog prices instead of pallet rate. I tried to resolve this but she was gone for the day. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have all totals and I can start taking payments.

Ugh? pallet rate or bust i guess.

Well, I wouldn't go that far... it's only a couple bucks a bag difference.... but I'll definitely do everything I can to get us the pallet pricing -- that's what we've paid on the other orders so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get it this time around.

Just a thought, are there any other wholesalers in the region where we might be able to negotiate better deals. I'm sure this has been researched thoroughly but my 2c. I'm happy to do some negotiating if it helps(tis what i do for a living).

I think NCM is the way to go -- they are huge and the prices are great. I don't see why we wouldn't get the pricing as before... I'll keep you guys updated.

I can't wait for all that grain! Lots of beers to be made! I was going to try and hold off on brewing until I got my bulk grain, but I think I'm gonna have to come up with a recipe and place a grain order for a batch to hold me over...

The only thing we could do is befriend a brewery. If we can tag on their order it should drop our cost.

No delivery fee. Or we just pay part of one.
Get the best price. not the 1000# but the 4000# price. With this and the lower delivery fee, it should be about $5 a bag cheaper.

One central location to pick it up, and depending on the brewery, they might be able to hold it for a few days.

Ok, I got a revised quote with 2200-4000# pricing. All good. I'll post totals and payment info later today.

Depending on the date I may be able to drive up for myself, but I guess that's something we'll figure out when we know exact time-frames.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

As Wino seems to have dropped out, and unless somebody else wants to pick mine up for me, it looks as though I will be picking mine up.
Any other Island brewers need theirs picked up? If so, send me a PM (I should be able to pick up about an extra 8 sacks).

Sorry guys, I had a crazy day and wasn't able to get totals together. I have a really busy weekend ahead, but I'll do my best to post the totals.

Your screwin' my pipeline dude! haha I can't believe you didn't put you'r life on hold for our bulk grain order!

...I think I speak for everybody when I say we appreciate your efforts you've already made to better our common hobby and make things more economical for all! :mug: If there's anything that can be done to help you out, let me know. Until than, enjoy what's left of the weekend!

I'm going to order a some Pac Man yeast, kolsch, and maybe a saison, to add to my yeast bank for the upcoming year's brewing. Since NB only charges $8 bucks flat shipping, if anyone in within the exit 116-Exit 98 on the GSP or in Manhattan are interested in getting in, let me know. For reference I live off of exit 109 and work in Manhattan.

I'm going to order next week however I'm not going to ship until Feb 10th so let me know what you want and I'll add it to my order. You can paypal me or you can give me cash when you see. The shipping's on me so feel free to opt in.

I've posted total amounts in the first post of the thread. I have to check with NCM again tomorrow in order to finalize totals for pickledherring and myself, as a couple of the grains on our orders seem to be priced incorrectly on the quote. Hopefully I'll be able to post those totals tomorrow.

The shipping price works out to $135 (freight to NYC including advance call) + $18.00 fuel surcharge= $153.00 / 42 bags = $3.65 per bag

Also, if you notice your total is a few cents more than the listed price in the sales book, the quote shows most bags at about 8 cents per bag higher than the listed price. This must be some small fraction per pound that they don't bother listing in the sales book.

At your earliest convenience, please send payment via Paypal to jo*shua.fiel*ds<at>gm*ail<dot>com (remove asterisks and change "at" and "dot" of course). Important: please send payment as a personal transfer, otherwise I'll incur fees and will have to bill you for them. Also, if at all possible send the payment using a bank account or Paypal balance. If you have to send it using a credit or debit card, you'll need to add 2.9% plus 30 cents to your total to cover Paypal fees. If anyone needs to send a check or money order, let me know and I'll PM you my address. Paypal will be most expedient of course.

Thanks all -- and the sooner all payments are received, the sooner we get the goods!:mug:

Payment sent.
FYI I cannot make a run for grain until I get back from sunny S Fla, around 2-11 or so. If someone from central/south jersey near exit 109 would pick up my grain I would appreciate it. Otherwise, when I get back I can make the trip up. I'll be around the house that weekend making beer of course :)
