Hello all! I'm finally ordering my parts for my new keezer build. I need an opinion on faucets. I know Perlick is the best but I'm wondering what is the difference and is better: 575SS or 525SS?

Thanks in advance!!

The 575SS is essentially the 525SS with a "creamer" function added. While I run six of the latter and have no experience with the former, I don't think you can go wrong with either...

Cheers!

I'm wondering if I will have enough room to push back against the collar with the creamer tap

I never really saw the point of the "creamer." (Awkward name, to boot.) Want more foam? Just open the handle halfway.

This. I have 5 525s on my keezer (debated going with 4 525s and 1 575). I like to get a little more head on the stout I just kegged. I just open it up all the way for about half a glass and then close it halfway to get a nice creamy head. We don't need no stinkin creamer! It's an unnecessary added cost too.

Unless you manage to get your 575's for the same price as a 525 :D

In reference to the clearance issue... unless your taps are inset into the collar or you use ridiculously large tap handles, they should clear just fine.

Yep, either learn to pour a pint properly or buy a stout tap for nitro beers. The creamer just seems like a gimick you don't need and your freinds will not understand whats happening when they "close" the tap and get creamed!

+1

525SS rock and can be found cheap if you look around.

Thanks guys. I will go with the 525SS!!!

From what I've read some folks have had issues mating 525ss faucets with shanks. I recommend you get the faucets and stainless steel shanks from the same retailer, in the hope that they'd supply shanks that actually work well with the faucets or at least they'll solve any problems that arise with a minimum of fingerpointing. That's how I went and I had no problem with six sets...

Cheers!

Don't get the 575. I got one because I wanted to be able to foam up stouts and "save" from using nitro. The creamer function on mine doesn't really do anything. Opening the valve forward halfway as someone else suggested for a 525 works better.

And yes, people will screw it up and accidentally push the handle back.

I have one 575, no 525s. It is neat, but I can see how people think it is gimmicky. I had an amazon gift card and found it cheap so I cannot complain too much. I'll eventually switch out my cheap faucets for 525s, but will keep the one 575 just to use on stouts. Maybe go with one and keep the rest 525s?
