Hi,

I plan on brewing a rye pale ale and I was wondering if I can partial mash with a pound of rye, pound of dextrine, pound of crystal L20 (I know I don't need to but I don't feel like steeping them after), and 1/4 pound of crystal L80? The rest is 6.6 pounds of LME and .5 pounds of brown sugar. I'm a little worried it might not have a high efficiency since most of the grain is not high in fermentable. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

You should always mash/steep all your grains together, there's no reason not to. With 1.25lb of crystal, I don't see the need for 1lb of dextrine, I'd cut it out preferably for more rye.
