I think Papaizan has a new book out. He was on my local AM station pitching it. Too bad the host was a moron!

Yep. I am about halfway through it.
Its pretty good, quite a few awesome recipes I want to try. A couple that stuck out to me:

Magic Hat #9 (straight from the owner of the brewery)
New Glarus fruit beer (New Glarus is famous for thier fruit beers, and had to stop distribution to any other states but Wisconsin cause they can't keep up!)

Anyway--the book reminds me of Charlie's personality. When I met him at the NHBC, he was all over the place. So is this book. Its a great book, and I'll support all of his books just for what he has done to get craft brewing where it is today.

I had to go back to my room to get them:

1. The Brewmaster's Bible by Stephen Snyder - very informative with lots of charts and many recipes. It has a lot basic instructions, but I'll use the charts and recipes for sure. Overall it's a good book. I would recommend it to anyone. :D

2. The Big Book O' Beer by Duane Swierczynski - more on trivia and such. I did find 2 items that I think his researchers gave him the wrong info. One being that "Pilsner beer is the only beer style with its own glass". He mentions mugs, flute-style, goblets and chalices, but nothing about Weizen glasses. I don't remember what the other one was. When he mentioned the Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier from Bamberg (I've been there dozens of times when I worked in Bamberg, last time in July) he didn't inform everyone that it means "Genuine Staggering Drunk Smoked Beer". Not that it's important, but overall I'd recommend it to people who are into trivia. :D

No, I'm on the road again.... :D Business trip.

I'll be leaving Clarksville, TN in about an hour then I'm off to beautiful Jackson, MS. I should be there around noon or so.

OK, I'm in Pearl, MS (outside of Jackson). It's a dry county  , but wet ones are within minutes. :D

I couldn't find a brewery in Clarksville or anyone else who knew where one was. I even asked at the music store and some students. Maybe it's gone?

I was there with 2 days to kill and came up empty.

OMG. I can't believe no one could tell you where it was! I just called an old buddy of mine who lives in Clarksville to see for sure...it IS still open!
It is right downtown, about 3 blocks or so from Austin Peay University. They make pretty good pizza and the beers were okay. The best part of that place was a bar above the brewery called the tap room. 100 different beers on tap.
I'm shocked no one knew of it. That place was a couple of times a week hangout for me.

I was on the riverfront just down the hill from te college. As a matter of fact I was in Mary's (the music store) when I asked about a pub.

Idiot's!!! ARRRGGGGG!!!

All that wasted time not getting wasted. I had to read.....
