I did as well, it was a Pioneer desktop model. My father's brother was the first USA importer for Pioneer and we could get lots of hardware cheap...
When I get down to the brewery I'll get a picture of mine, I bet it's the same.
I don't even know if I still have mine. If I do, it's buried under a mountain of other crap in my attic.
You might be missing out on some nostalgia!
Well, I am almost positive I didn't keep any tapes. I also used to have a little doo-dad that you could insert into an 8-track deck to play cassettes.

I remember that gizmo. In the late sixties early seventies I delivered TV's for a place, one guys had a fancy 8-track in his junky car. The player was worth more. That player was state of art.

My Pioneer looked very similar but yours is a higher spec model.
I had a full Pioneer component suite with separate amp, receiver, 8-track recorder and turntable, all sharing the same design style...

Pioneer made great equipment back then. Not sure anymore.
My equipment was always a mixed bag but always high end.
I bought a Yamaha amp around 1980: ish, $1600 and it still pumps out 120watts to seven channels today. It'll rattle the windows.
