Hello, I got a machine oxygen concentrator and I would like to use it to oxygenate in line with the Brewtools oxygen kit. Do you know what flow rate to set it to? I can vary it from 1L/min to 5L/min. Maybe it's too much?
Search for Oxygen flow rate.
There are several threads.
Keep in mind that they are typically talking about pure oxygen. I don't think your concentrator produces pure oxygen, I may be wrong.
At 90-95% O2, that's close enough for brewing. It should work fine.
I use a sintered 0.5 micron stone on the end of a wand, connected to a regulated O2 cylinder. Around 1L/min is plenty for me. But for in-line, results may be different. I'm not familiar with the Brewtools system, but perhaps start low and turn up the O2 volume if needed.
I use an oxygen concentrator.
You will find that 5 litres per minute will probably be 40% oxygen.
My one can do 2litres per minute at 90%.
I use this with an oxygenation stone.
I've no experience with inline oxygenation, what I do know is the device does not work at a very high pressure. Hoses blew off inside the unit when the tube was kinked.
The problem could be if the wort pressure is greater than gas pressure you will get wort going through your carbonation stone and up the tube. Instead of oxygen coming out.
I would have assumed that the inline would have guidance for amount of oxygen flow related to volume of wort flowing by. Or check this with a DO meter.
