It's talked about in Gordon Strong's book 'Brewing Better Beers' (It's actually a section by Joe Formanek).

My last brew I mashed the night before, then stuck the wort in boil pot in the fridge ready to go to boil the next day. Worked great.

I don't. It seems unnecessary. I just did this Friday night/Saturday and got 98% efficiency, so all the sweet wort is getting rinsed out.

I did a thread on this topic about a year ago. There a few good pointers there if you are interested.

I stopped doing this after about 6 months as I found a better way to brew an maximize time with the family (which keeps SWMBO happy). I just mash in ca 9AM and do a 2+ hour mash, then finish up when the kids are napping. I still do overnight mash from time-to-time, especially if i'm going to crank out a double brew day.

It's a nice time-saver, good luck.
