So I'm brewing a recipe that is pushing my mash tun to it's limits!

While mashing in, I was adding some water for temp correction and came close to running over, so I just opened the valve and ran some off so I could correct the mash temperature.

I ran off about a half gallon doing my temp corrections, now I wonder;

What do I do with what I ran off?
Dump it? Or would it be fine for me to just add it back to the kettle and boil it with my wort?

maybe something out side of the box I'm not thinking of?

This had crossed my mind... Probably what I'll do.

Thanks for the input PJoyce. I'm related to a lot of Joyce's so you must be smart :)

No sense wasting the water. I would add it before the sparge water just to make sure you get as much rinsing as possible.

My great grandpa had 13 siblings, so you never know.
