Over shot it by five degrees. Shut eye off, moved pot off eye, have 6min left of steeping.. Did I screw it up? Don't won't to leech tannins in the wort. A little nervous now
 
Should have been between 150 to 165 max. Hit 175 for maybe 7min.. Beer type "American Amber"
 
It's too late now, but next time if you get too warm, just toss an ice cube in there and stir- it'll come down fast! (I know this from experience- trust me. :drunk: I've had all sorts of issues and learned almost everything the hard way!)
