Last night was the first time i have attempted kegging so i hooked it up at 30 psi and rolled it for 5 min (at room temp) and put it in the kegerator to chill for 12 hours at 30 psi. Today i set it back down to the serving pressure of 7 psi and purged the c02 out but beer just came shooting out so i stopped. i then poured a glass of foam. Btw i have a picnic tap hooked up to about 4 feet of hose since thats what my brew store hooked me up with in the kit. I know i probably over carbed this damn keg so my question is how do i fix this stupid mistake of mine? Do i need a longer hose? I just want to drink my damn beer! thanks for the help.

Disconnect the gas line and just keep bleeding off the CO2 until it is suitable pressure. May take a few hours but eventually the pressure will come down.

Depending on how long you cooled the keg, it might still have some cooling to do and the CO2 could dissolve a bit more. If time does not do it, yes, bleed off some of the gas, wait then see if that works

So bleed it until the beer comes out, then wait. Then bleed it again later until beer comes out, repeat, repeat, repeat?

No. First, let the keg sit. Moving it around will make it worse. Keep it cold. Then, reach over and pull the pressure relief valve. No beer will come out, but gas will. Of course, keep the gas off for now until it settles down. Do that until it's not overcarbed anymore.

Next time, don't shake/roll/etc a keg, especially a warm one, at pressure. You can carb quickly that way, if you like foamy beer, but you can actually drink a beer faster if you just set it in the kegerator and let it chill and put it on 12 psi for a week. If you HAVE to have it sooner, put it at 30 psi for 36 hours, purge, and reset it at 12 psi.

And get 8'-10' lines. That will also help.
