To pay the bills, I do store-level inventory control for a big blue consumer electronics retailer. However, I did just graduate last weekend, so I'm in the job market.

Other hobbies? Cooking (including via smoker), some video gaming, spending time with the girlfriend and our dogs (morsel mine, hers is a happy little brat), and....does marathon-watching shows on Netflix even though I can already recite most of them count?

What sort of work do you guys and gals do? What other crafts do you pursue?

I work for one of the largest banks in the world. I also homebrew (obviously), garden, make soap, cook, and do woodworking.

I'm interested to hear from you guys.
web development and design

drink homebrew all day, meditating. trying to learn how to think for myself. but only the last 7 years, i used to wash dishes!

edit: or someone is going to have to explain why i should be to scared to try! :mug:

I'm an IT guy by day. Other then brewing, I also make wine, and am in a whisky club.
My wife and I maintain a sizable veggie garden and can/preserve lots of stuff like salsa, tomato sauce, pickles, jams.
I also grow hot peppers and make a bunch of different hot sauces every year, and dehydrate others.
I'm also a big BBQ guy, usually grilling or smoking something a couple times a week, or grinding meat for sausages.

Day job is working in a semiconductor research cleanroom.
Outside of brewing, which is by far my #1 hobby, I'm into music (metal) and football (dolphins). Used to be a major chili head, but my insides can't really take it anymore, so I stick with "grocery store" level hot now. Enjoy a good scotch as well.

I spent 26 years in the Air Force as an Air Transportation Specialist. Retired in January of 2019. I spend my time now on the farm, hunting, fishing, brewing, I am absolutely living my best life. Recently found this forum about a month ago and spend way too much time on here, love all of the insight I've gained, you people are wicked smart when it comes to home brewing!

Dolphins fan in NY? Good for you! Glad I'm not the only Fins fan around here.

OT: I'm in IT, mainly backup and recovery but leaning more into automation these days.

Yup! I was so young, I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but it sure wasn't because of any outside influence. Everyone I knew liked the giants, but I had to be different. I got harassed about it constantly, but I guess it gave me thick skin, lol.

I work in construction as a carpenter, mostly the heavy stuff like joining, formworks, roofs etc.
Other than brewing i read a lot, build plastic scale models(currently working on a t-55 tank) videogames when I have time, multi day hiking a couple times a year.
Me and the missus both like making stuff from the ground up, so we bake bread(the grains left over from brewdays are excellent to use in rye and oat sourdough bread), sausage and smoke things a lot. We are trying to grow our own veggies and stuff but garden space is limited when living close to the city so we are looking to move a bit further out on the countryside to a house with 3-4 acre property and build a small homestead with the kids. Also better hunting grounds, something I also do from time to time.

I too work in construction. Drywall, paint and wallpaper. It runs in my family. Every one on my dads side back to my great-grandfather.
Besides brewing witch is top on my list, I also paint in my free time. Mostly airbrushing. When I have the time. Somethings I do I’ll have 40-60 hours into it
Here’s some stuff I’ve been working on.
the skull is about 10”x10”
Johnny cash is about 12”x12”
And the eye of someone watching the crucifixion is about 4”x6”

I am a PM for a large MEP construction company. My job forces me to travel quite a bit, so I get to visit a lot of local breweries and local beer bars in other cities

Retired pharmacist here.

My current diversions beyond brewing include smoking & curing meat, gardening, canning veggies, hot sauces, jellies and pickles. I also have several car and tractor projects, as well as producing maple syrup, wine making and golf.

My past hobbies included fishing, boating, camping, playing bass, woodworking and probably others that I have forgotten. I'm not very skilled at many of these things, but I have had the opportunity to meet many interesting people who are truly experts in these endeavors and shared in their passion and knowledge.

Construction superintendent. I'm into leather (making things, not wearing it), curing and smoking meats and sausage. Motorcycles, fishing, guns, golf, gardening, and woodworking. How do I find time to brew?

sausage making is a wonderful hobby, me and the missus just got a manual sausage stuffer and I am working to better optimize my grill for hot smoking.

Wife and I learned from her (very) Italian father. A few recipes are known to be over 200 years old. We developed our own brat recipe that blows peoples minds. It amazes me we can do at home what giant sausage conglomerates can't (or won't).

Yummy, brats! I've been making my own Italian sausage, mostly for pizza. Tired of the not so good stuff at the stores. I'd like to try some brats as I've had some "German style" from a small local place. Love them but they don't always have them in stock.

Electrical Designer is my job.

I am a civil designer. Subdivisions, roads, water, sewer, storm drain. If I do my job right, no one knows what I do, but if I blew it, there would be a pretty big mess.

I play bass, guitar, and banjo, and I am a massive watch geek.

I also make sausage, and more recently I have been making a lot of pasta from scratch.

Office ***** / Karen calmer (customer service) to pay the bills, though I;ve been on furlough since "all this" began over a year ago. I've been keeping out of trouble by picking up work at the senior living place where my wife works.
As far as spending the money, besides homebrewing, I'm a musician (well, legend in my own basement; I haven't upgraded to living room) playing guitar, bass, drums and used to play sax. I run and bike, ski and golf when I can, and sail. |Besides my folks' 29' sailboat, I have a Laser, Laser 2 and a Flying Junior. I want to get more of a relaxed type of daysailer, that I don't have to worry about capsizing all the time.
Not to mention way more interests that I barely dabble in, and say, "when I hit the big numbers on the lottery, I'll...." Though I suppose it would help if I actually played...
