If I wanted to add a good orange flavor to a wheat beer would it be a good idea to put some zest in each bottle prior to capping? Just a thought I had and wanted to see what you guys thought.

I LOVE orange in my IPA...I add peel at 15 minutes, zest with 5 and flameout, then dry hop with peel...fantastic! Its not overpowering either

I wouldn't put zest in the bottle, as there is no way to control the amount of orange going forward. I would use it in the last minutes of the boil or in secondary. Do not use the white part of the orange peel or it will be very bitter.

Yeah, the zest is the colored part of the peel only. It contains the essential oils of the fruit. Use it the last 10 min or so of the boil. You can even go one more & put some in the secondary for a week, like dry hopping.

+1 to most of what has been said above. I just zested my first batch @ 10 minutes and the aroma/flavor was great when I transferred to keg. Maybe even a tad too strong, but I suspect this will mellow out some by the time the keg is consumed.
