If you were to add orange peels to your brew would you leave them in the beer while fermenting or take them out after the boil?
 
I use them in boil only and it works great, just remember you want to use the rind but not the white membrane between the rind and husk. I basically peel it with a knife or use a zester (sp?) to make sure I minimize it's content. When boiled the white membrane will give off a very distinct bitter flavor.
 
When I use peel in the boil they're just like late addition hops and are removed pre-chill. If I use peel as a dry hop they stay 'til I keg.

Don't discount the bitter factor as it's part of some recipes that call for the full rind, while others just call for the zest...
