I usually just read over the articles here and refrain from posting, but thought I'd use my first post for something important. I am currently a student at Virginia Tech, where I'm sure most of you have heard of the recent tragedy. For those that haven't heard we are encouraging everyone across the country, and the world to join the Hokie nation in wearing Orange and Maroon(our school colors) on Friday 4/20/2007 to help show support for the victims, families, and everyone effected by the tragedies of Money 4/16/2007. And for anyone that has shown their support in any way, I want to say thank you, it has meant a lot to all of us.

cool2seat,

An awesome and most worthy way to make your intro to HBT. :rockin: We here in Illini country keep all of you guys in our thoughts and prayers. Take care, and most importantly, be there for each other.

All the best,

Ize

Just got an email from my schools president saying to wear orange and maroon tomorrow. Best wishes.

I hear you, can't wear maroon and orange, but I have my regular all black attire on, and when I get home, my hokie sandals are going on. My little brother goes there, and he and all of his friends are camping right now, taking some time off.

I don't have any maroon and I don't have any orange.

No wait, I have a maroon T-shirt with some holes in it. I'll wear that as I brew up something tasty for y'all.

I'm orange today. Class of 02.

Adam, it's really inspiring here in Charlottesville. Our "rivals" are all wearing Maroon and Orange. I'm sure you've seen the pictures of Beta Bridge. I've been getting calls from a lot of people, too...family, old friends, fellow alum. All in all, there's just a whole lot of compassion and goodness in this world to overcome the horrors.

I hope you and yours are okay...as okay as you can be. :mug: Hokie, Hokie, Hokie High!

The level of support from everyone, including those guys that go to school down the road is unbelievable. We've been getting emails from other Aerospace departments across the country supporting us. I've been lucky, I haven't known anyone that was lost well. Thanks to all who have had kind words. Now everyone just needs to open a bottle of their finest Home Brew and drink to the people that were lost. :mug:
