I think the rumors circulating about Mike may have had something to do with it. Also, this beer has been trending up for a while now, and it was only a matter of time before someone bought that one for $999.99 that has been on MBC for a while now.

Actually what it was is that I just traded my last one and every time I trade away a TG stout Mike peaces out and the value shoots up like a rocket, leaving me shaking my head.

Traded a KBBS for a decent haul before his first hiatus. I still get text messages from the guy I sent it to when a crazy ISO: KBBS gets posted.

So, sorry everyone. In the future just send me all the TG stouts and I'll hang onto them and Mike and Clark will live happily ever after.

Two were bought by the same person too. You want to tell me someone spent 2000 on two sr-71 in the same day? No way those sales are real.

What do the numbers "46" and "168" signify next to the buyer's name? Does that mean that poster has purchased something on MyBeerCellar 46 and *gasp* 168 times?

I'm doubtful as well, but I do think it's possible. They aren't getting any easier to find. If someone thinks they're only going to keep getting harder to track down then maybe they wanted to get one now before **** gets really out of hand. I've seen offers of $750 getting crickets, so $900 isn't out of the realm of believablility.

You could have said the same thing about KBBS 13 a year ago - "These sales are fake, no one is paying $900 for a beer!" or "This is a raffle price, so that doesn't count as an actual value!"

Now we got people offering up PVW23 1:1 and getting crickets.

No, if you click on the number it'll give some insight into how they come up with that ********

Thats what I was thinking. This guy could very well be trying to jump on the train before it gets crazy(Edit: crazIER). Just take a look at FB groups and you can see some people are making some nice money selling bottles. All trends are pointing toward this beer hitting the $1,400 kbbs range (which is insane to think of), so these new beer investors may be trying to invest the $2k to make an extra $800. It helps their portfolio immensely!

**** me. Why do I even beer. Mentality like this is draining at best, a ******* puncture in the already porous lung of society at worst.

FYI, i was saying this as their perspective and the mentality of people in this "hobby" now (if you can even call it a hobby, seems to be more of a business even for the drinkers these days). I have never sold a beer and have been in craft beer long before all of this getting mules so you can flip the bottles nonsense.

OK, consider my response a knee jerk reaction to seeing something like that written out. Not judging you, but that line of thinking.

Respect beer.

I definitely agree with you, but it's hard to be oblivious to that mentality now when it is so prevalent. Think about how many trades are based on secondary prices these days... that was never a thing when i first got into trading...like, not even on the radar in the slightest bit when making a trade. Retail was the only consideration that had anything to do with money.

Beanie babies just don't go out of style for some folks. I'm willing to bet that within the next few years the beer world goes back to normal once these people latch on to the next thing they think they can make a quick buck at.

Damnit! According to Beerblackbook, I am losing a current trade. I'm sending a Rusty Nail + Dame Rouge for a BA Dorothy. Rusty's 30 day average price is $3.75 more than Dorothy. HE SHOULD BE ADDING, NOT ME! Never mind the fact I bought Rusty at a grocery store and his bottle came from a remote corner of the country.

domtronzero - need any rare Pokemon?
Lol. Lololololol.

I am hoping when they introduce trading into Pokemon Go I can swap some rare ones for lambic to that same guy who was ISO Magic Cards for his JCR or Crianza or whatever that was.
It was Crianza and A&T (and a full Armand Seasons set). When a CP2500+ becomes worth the same amount as a handful of Revised blue duals I'll consider a trade.

If you're at the stage where you'll pay more than 50/60$ for a beer then you're already lost.

We're so spoiled for choice right now it's silly. Drink or hobby, they're both really different things.

Kbbs I've never had, but sr71 I've had a few times, its really good but not worth what's being asked lately imho. Bottle for bottle, sure. I could see zenne /sr71 or aunis/zr71 with a good + for sure.

I suppose my point is take your secondary prices and **** off. Real beer drinkers trade bottles, not profits.

I dont click on this thread often but when I do, its refreshing to see posts by people who share similar opinions to myself.

By similar opinions I pretty much mean the first and last of your comments because I dont know what the beers are that you are talking about in the middle.

I think that's the same guy who was trying to trade those 3 for a 2013 KBBS on reddit. Since he got no offers I guess his plan is to get one by offering cash after he sells those.

Too bad no one will buy at that price.

Edit: nvm, my timeline is off. The sale was posted before the trade offer. Still pretty sure it's the same guy though.

I think that guy is trying to hype up the kbbs 13 even more. He's only posting on reddit and i'm pretty sure no one on reddit has a 13 kbbs.
