Going on MBC can be so weird. There's all kinds of absolutely stupid shitlordery pricing (like the SHBRL that's been posted several times on this page), then I'll see some bottles that are actually tempting, or at least as much as anything on the secondary market can be. 2004 and 2005 C&C La Folies for 150ish, T25 for 75, '09 BT for 200, a few other cool older beers.

All of the bottles getting sold are actually full. It's one of those 'disclaimer' things like on Craigslist where people will put, "Bottle sold for artistic purposes only, actual contents can be disposed of at buyers' discretion."

I'm not even going to bother linking any of the listings (they are easy to find on the first page of new ones) but my absolute favorite MBC postings are where people list gross vintage Stone beers at stupid markups. Right now there's 2 (!!!) bottles of 11/11/11, 2011 Belgo Anise Imperial Stout, and Lukcy Basartd, for 30, 30, and 35 bucks respectively. I wouldn't even send a shipping label for that entire lot.

Oh I know, I always find it amusing as well.

I don't think there's a copper out there who is about to make a bust on craigslist of someone selling beer without a license and they go, "Shoot, he's only selling the bottle and he'll dump out the contents upon request.. foiled again!" But, people still put that crap on every listing like it makes a difference. (Of course I don't think there's a cop out there who gives a crap about secondary sales on craigslist in the first place) I think Ebay had a policy where it had to be on there before they cracked down on alcohol sales.

I think the rumors circulating about Mike leaving may have had something to do with it. Also, this beer has been trending up for a while now, and it was only a matter of time before someone bought that one for $999.99 that has been on MBC for a while now.
