Even my friends who work in the local craft beer industry are oblivious to things like raffles and mybeercellar.com. To associate with 75 people who participate in secondary market activity sounds completely insufferable. But it must be worth it for those 1 oz. pours at megawhale shares.

If you've had both you probably know they're not worth anywhere near that. Was really disappointed in Assassin when I had it again a month or two ago.

Yeah he's correct. I've made a couple of purchases on MBC, basically esoteric bottles (purchased a box of really ****** beers like Bully Guppy etc.) or good deals (got some lambic at basically cost). Each time I used the "purchase" option and it listed the bottles as sold to me, but when it came to paying I contacted the seller directly and we went through PayPal without using MBC to finalize the sale.

Yes, the majority. Let's say I know 100ish people into craft beer. A rough estimate of who buys/sells on secondary would be about 75. And it's not just people that got into it in the past year or two, guys that have been doing it for a long time will come to me and say, "Hey, how much can I get for *insert beer here*"..

Secondary sales are just a normal part of beer now, IMO.

I think the biggest problem most people have is that a lot of these people who do it on the secondary are the people who go with mules to buy as many as they can with the sole purpose to resell them to make money, not to sell one they have so they can buy one they want (like you mentioned before). This essentially shuts out the locals and others who just want to buy the beer from the brewery and enjoy it.
