OK, no reasonable excuse to give but we were bottling one batch and transferring another to the secondary fermentor and totally got messed up. We added the bottling sugar to the secondary of the wrong batch. We have it in a airlock and are suspecting we just ruined this batch of Kona Fire Rock PA. Is there any hope for this batch. Irt was in the primary for 1 week, and now has 3/4 cup of corn syrup added to the secondary. Go ahead, laugh, we are!

I doubt its ruined. You can add all sorts of things to the secondary (molasses, brown sugar, honey, fruit puree etc etc). I would let it sit in the secondary and ferment out the added sugar. You should be fine, although the ABV will be slightly higher and it may change the overall profile a bit. but you never know... it might turn out awesome and you'll be adding sugar the next time heh ;)

Not sure why it would hurt. The yeast will have a few more sugars to eat. No big deal. Let it sit as you usually would and it should be fine. You will need to add more sugar at bottling time. RDWHAHB!

There is no way you ruined the beer by adding 5oz of sugar to it.

Although if you bottled the other beer without priming it...THAT could be a problem. You'd probably want to get some of those carbonation drop things and stick one or two in each bottle and recap them.

As long as it's pure corn syrup, no problem. Even if it has a little vanilla in it, the amount is small, it shouldn't ruin the batch.
