2 weeks ago I brewed 10 gallons of oktoberfest. I made a starter of wlp820 with 2 viles and did about 5 step ups of 2 liters each, all seemed well. I let fermentation go for 12 days, then did a diacetyl rest. Today i tested the gravity as i was about to rack to secondary and lager....gravity reading was 1.030! What happened? IS there anything I can do to help this guy finish, or do I just need to try again with a new batch?
recipe was:
9lbs pilsner
7lbs munich
3lbs vienna
1.5lbs caramunich
mashed at 120F for 20 minutes and 148F for 60, no mash out, fly sparged.

Any ideas?

Thanks

based on that thread, it seems like just trying to add additional yeast is my only hope. should I return to lager fermentation temperature after pitching new yeast, or leave at diacetyl rest temp?

I would return to fermentation temps, rouse the yeast and see if it takes off.

In the mean time, I would be preparing another starter to be on the safe side.
