I recently purchased a Barley Crusher grain mill and used it for the first time today. While I had anticipated an increase in efficiency over the pre-crushed grain I had been getting from Northern Brewer, I was a bit surprised that it went from ~62% to 79%. As a result, the OG of the beer I brewed today was .014 higher than expected (expected: 1.054/actual: 1.068). This has also resulted in underpitching as I had made a 1L starter, but it should have been 2L according to Mr. Malty.
So my question is this: I pitched the starter late Sunday night. Would it be safe to go get another packet of the yeast from my LHBS Monday morning and pitch it in to account for my unexpectedly high OG?
