i'm thinking a great feature (for me anyway) would be to be able to restrict the audience that can view a checkin, in the way that you can on facebook. that way if i want to share a certain beer with a friend, i won't have to read entitled messages asking why I didn't wait to share it with that particular person. am i alone here?

Get better friends.

So it appears Untappd has added 0.25 increments. Looks like I have to go back through all my beers and readjust everything, because my 3.5s are almost all 3.25s or 3.3s, and my 4s are mostly 4.2s and 3.7s.

I noticed that some of my older checkins where I'd put a quarter-point rating in the comments appeared to have gotten automatically updated.

I've been wondering, has something happened with the foursquare integration and private residences? I've noticed recently that I can no longer find one of my buddy's houses in the search.

That's been an issue with Untappd for a while now. If I remember reading it right you have to tie your Foursquare/Swarm account to the private venues for them to show up.

If you go back and look, Untappd made a post about this on their site.

You can either fight with the foursquare mods to make it public, friend him on foursquare's app (and link it with Untappd), or do some kind of voodoo with the venue tools on Untappd that I don't think totally works.

But it's a Foursquare thing and there's not a lot we can do.

I recommend people just make their house a "beer garden" and don't include the street address if they're that worried about stalkers.
It's not the owners ******* things up, it other people on foursquare. So someone does what you say, then some rando on foursquare tries to find the place, can't, and reports it. It then gets reclassified as a home, and BAM it doesn't show up in search results any more. It's basically whether or not you get unlucky.

People care enough to report things on Foursquare? WOW.
Apparently. The founder of Untappd told me that he would sometimes get complaints from people trying to find my old place, they wanted the .rar beers that were available there. I find this incredibly amusing

Guess no one has come looking for the Spice Factory that used to be at my address....

IPA, Session IPA, Black IPA, Double IPA, Triple IPA, Coffee IPA, Pineapple IPA, Grapefruit IPA, Habenero IPA, Barrel Aged IPA, Belgian IPA, White IPA, Brett IPA o_O
