... how is Yes different from Sometimes?
Signed, person who does survey research for a living.

My girlfriend works for a market research firm and this would piss her off as well.

I answered sometimes because I won't often go to Untappd first for info, but I will cross-reference other sites' info with Untappd's. I assume that's the sort of thing they're looking for with sometimes (but not yes).

Seems like they are deciding if they want to be a place for accurate beer info (which would require heavier moderation and limiting of excessive vintage/one-off beer creation) or more of a social/beer diary site.

Yeah, I answered assuming the intent was to ask "often" or "sometimes" too. Interesting questions, and I'm glad they're asking.

Hey, me too!

Wait what if you work for a competitor?

Does the green label 3F Gueuze have its own listing?
No.

Some people have that aspiration, but making Untappd into something accurate would take something on the order of 100x as much work as we are currently capable of doing. It would be such a massive expansion that it's just NOT going to happen. I advocate living with inaccuracy as a fact of life, but for some reason people still see this platonic ideal of a database as attainable.

Also ppl putting in their basements and entering "******* Catalina Wine Mixer" into foursquare and having those listed in there as places around to drink is dumb. It's not cute and you're not helping anyone.

As lame as it sounds I sometimes use untappd to see what bars and breweries have been pouring cause not everyone has their tap list online and instead I have to weed out dumb locations no one will ever go to aka your house or your pool just to find out what local options have available.
No.

Then how would we follow Gang Bang check-ins?

I started using this app this year. Same username as on here. Add me (or don't)

I'm not much for checking in every beer I drink, but I try to always check in uniques

Curious as to the rating system used on Untappd. I was trying to check the ratings on the two different batches of DDG (see my inquiry on the AWA thread) and batch 2 ranked way higher than batch 1. Looking at Batch 1, it has an average of 3.9, but I have only found one rating under 4 in the first maybe fifty or sixty of the reviews listed (of 100).

It's bayesian, so beers with fewer ratings have a lower rating.
