Has Transient (MI) been ramping up production lately? Because in less than three weeks we've gotten two big retail drops (9 beers the first time, 5 the second time, only one repeat), and yesterday Hopcat tapped half a dozen kegs from them today. We almost never get any retail Transient, and Hopcat usually has one or two on tap at most.

he still has the same system I think it’s about not letting still on the floor in Bridgman and getting out to distro

if anyone has the chance to try "Just Passing Thru" I think easily one of the best fruited beers to come out of Transient.
I grabbed a few when I was out that way around Xmas. Excited to open them. I had the Montmorency a couple weeks before and it was probably the best new beer I have had this year. Hopefully it is similar!

Sooooo the email says "Because this is our last Illinois membership event"... did I miss an announcement about there being no more Illinois membership? or are there just going to be no more parties?

In any case, this batch of bottles sounds bangin and cant wait for the party. Hoping its not tooo crowded, but should still be a great time.

Seems like we’ll be nuts to butts
Just gotta find the right butt fo yo nut

pure speculation on my part (i haven't seen any news to this effect), but i would not at all be surprised if there were no more illinois membership, what with aquanaut being gone and all. i can't imagine essentially managing a main brewery/taproom two states away and floating around to a bunch of other area breweries to maintain illinois is an easy job.

I second these thoughts. Just hoping maybe he gives everyone a shot at signing up the Michigan memberships.

For clarity:
Yes this is our last Illinois membership release/period. We also have not determined the future of the Michigan membership, but assuming it continues all Illinois members would get a chance to join first. We will have that sorted hopefully by next weekend.

It might get a little tight at the beer temple. We are offering the backup day at our location both to give you all an option and possibly thin the beard (if only slightly). Also, this current membership group is our smallest yet because we did not refill any vacated spots over the last two periods as we had so many things in flux (new taproom and Brewing locations) that we didn’t want to overextend ourselves, so that should help for the amount f people at the release.

Can we bring a +1 to the Beer Temple event? Thanks.

Kinda gettin' all sorts of anxious to get this bottle email.

#IAmExcite

Not sure if I can make the Beer Temple party or not yet.. but the Bridgman Backup is looking like it's 100% Go for us.

Bump for the allotment email.

All those beers sound neat, Transient

Any story behind the limited Sangria one?

They all got me excited tho. But that one was like "Say what?"

Also, I saw The Beer Temple put in their email that they would be having a Transient Tap Takeover at 11 AM on Sun, Feb 11th.

This thing could be hella-crowded if it's members AND public.

So I’m paying $40 for party anyone can go to....Dat perk about a members only party

quinnsi / Transient is this actually public??

Also curious.... If it is public I would have chosen the 40$

The idea had been an hour or two of Members only, and a good number of beers that are members only the entire time, plus bottles that were members only.

I’ll let Chris B. Speak to the reasoning for moving the party, but let’s remember that the place he used to hold the party isn’t open anymore. I have a public place that costs me money not to have open.

Without getting into too many details, I don’t want to charge anywhere near full price to Betts for the beers his members drink for free (he can’t legally give me the beer for free) and by having some beers I could charge some people full price (not members - they would also drink this on bett’s tab) I could make the money back and allow the best price to Betts.

That was the goal. But Chris is getting a lot of push back and angry emails, so we’re gonna make it members only 10-2.

I purposely didn’t promote anything on social. The only mention was on a newsletter email that said 11am and details tbd. I should have waited to include that but with it less than a week away I got anxious. It was a mistake.

To clarify, Transient members will have the bar to themselves only from 10-11. After that we’re open, although non-members won’t be able order the Transient stuff on draft until after the event. If you guys want a private area for yourselves we can work that out too.

The three rooms on the bar side can easily accommodate 100 people, though we've had more. The Bottle Shop has no occupancy limit.

Is your concern that the space would become too full and thus Transient Members would be denied access? Based on our past events and what I've heard from Chris Betts about the number of members and their historic turnout rates, I would be surprised if that happened. I've been wrong before though.

How are you going to make sure non-members can’t order beers? Are you doing a wristband system and check names off the member’s list or is it more of a scout’s honor type system?

If the party isn’t private anymore I at least need a guarantee that non-members can’t kill kegs.

Thanks for coming by, Chris.

Certainly didn't mean to be the squeaky wheel here. Sounds like that ended up being other folks anyways.

Not sure I'll be there Sunday but I will definitely be @ Bridgman on the next Sunday.

Cheers.

I guarantee you will be able to drink plenty of Transient. If you want to oversee our bartenders denying non-members you are welcome to do so.

My apologies for asking if members will get what they paid for.

You've worked with me for like 8 years, Ryan, and I don't think I've ever given you reason to think I'm blatantly misrepresenting my intentions. I told you non members wouldn't be able to get Transient beers. You asked to know the specific method we were going to use to ensure non-members wouldn't get Transient beers, and a guarantee that what I had said was in fact true.
