Asking to pay for a beer in advance is ******? That's how jaded this place is now? My original post literally said it was weird that we debated buying 1 or 2 bottles and it's available on the shelf three days later. That is in fact strange. It's odd to not want to sell something to people that gave you a 7 month $125 down payment. It's not me "complaining" to say that's weird.

There's a large portion of people that aren't MI members that go to the taproom far more than any of us MI members ever will. Maybe Chris was trying to be nice and leave some for them? It's not weird in the least bit to reward locals who didn't get a chance to join the membership, and no matter how you try to spin this situation it comes across as complaining that you couldn't buy more than one bottle and these bottles ended up in the taproom for the general public to purchase.

We did a presale for members. 4 beers we had enough for everyone to get an extra but not enough for more than that. One beer we didn't have enough for everyone to get a single bottle. Of the 170 bottles we had of dry hopped Obelus, we pre sold 150. The remainder went on our shelf. Same deal with every other bottle. This is how we have done it every release With a presale (Beer temple) to make things fair to all members, but the remaining beer still has to be sold. We can't make a beer exclusive and equally distributed unless we make the exact amount as we have members. You all need to be realistic. We can't do everything...

Seriously, this sounds like whining about non-exclusivity more than anything else. A good beer is still going to be good regardless of whether you are in possession of bottle 1/100 or 1/10,000.

Basically these are small release batches, we paid to get first crack at them. The remainder will probably sell out really quickly at the taproom, and considering most of the Michigan members posting here are actually from Chicago, a lot of us wouldn't have access to these bottles if not for the reserve society.

More proof that beer people will ALWAYS find something to complain about.

lol, it's beer people. Buy it, drink it, enjoy it. It's not rocket appliances.

let's hope it lasts until next week, because i'll be driving up then to pick up my bottles. not sure if friday or saturday yet.

so current plan is to head up to the taproom on saturday morning, hopefully to arrive around open and give me enough time to sober up and drive home before the night is out. anyone need a trustee? anyone who wants a 'goandpickitupformebro'? hit me up. can't guarantee i'll help everyone but people have been very generous to me in the past, so i err on the side of helpful.

I heartily recommend the pizza from Lake Street Eats for sobering up purposes. Cannot recommend the BBQ brisket nachos though ... those sat a bit heavy last weekend.

Also don't be like me and forget about the time zone change.

Transient any chance of extended hours next Wednesday? Would like to stop by for a few/bottle pickup on my way to the parents' but was hoping to hit the road late morning. I'd think there are a fair amount of others in a similar situation.

lied about the time. thanks staying up until 3 drinking barterhouse. here now. I'm in the green hoody if you feel like saying hi.
