"One Trick only has 6 beers left of ours"

I'm assuming beers aging in oak, right? Who would have the others? Aquanut?

Chris hasn't brewed at One Trick in a while so I'm assuming left aging in oak. He's brewing strictly at Aquanaut now.

Con: Sounds like a fee will be involved for purchasing extra bottles.

This does help to limit non-members from purchasing extras but then members are being penalized for those few.

I think the "Fee" is only for those non-members trying to scam the system. They will be refunded and charged a processing fee. I don't think Beer Temple's online system charges buyers an initial fee at all.

Well you have to pay for the extra bottles as usual, did it say there would be an extra fee on top of that?

EDIT: Just saw last post

Looking forward to Sunday even more now. I think things should run pretty smoothly. Wonder where the additional kegs will be tapped at around the city. Beers sound great. That's really the main thing. Hoping that next round is just as good because that's a big nut for a single bottle release.

Just read the email - this is amazing. Love the changes, especially for someone who isn't usually able to stick around for very long to battle the bottle lines.

Will definitely be re-upping at the event on Sunday!

But no more shirts, I'm givin Chris ****. Print a pair of running shorts or socks, some **** I can use.

I have more Transient branded things in my house than anything else. I was in Hawaii for a while and people in the hotels must have been thinking I was a rep or something: wearing a shirt with the logo, drinking out of a water bottle with the logo, wearing a DIFFERENT shirt with a logo...

those seedling tart cherries are gonna make for a f*ckin amazin beer.

I'd actually love a flat bill hat, winter hat or a long sleeve instead of a t-shirt. I'm going to have 15 Transient shirts in a few years time at this rate.

I'm just hoping he actually records it when I ask for a larger shirt size this time. It'll be my first tshirt if it works out. The other two are relegated to being bedshirts for my wife.

I'm very happy that we'll be able to order extra bottles online in the next few days, then the renewal is on Sunday. It doesn't matter in the end, but breaking up those two payments just makes me feel a little better.

i am so pumped for these changes that it's not even funny. love so much being able to purchase my extras online and being able to make a quick drive over to pick them up. and being able to bottle share throughout the event. and the guest limiting. and knowing what the beers are before we show up. hell yes.

Only thing left to hope for, is some porto johns.
And the rain in the forecast not to happen so it can be outdoors.

Also happy that this is the first release with a variety of different things. As I said before, my one (minor) complaint was getting multiple treatments on the same beer. Four new beers this time! Huzzah! Even if one is a repeat of sorts, I'm down if this is the process going forward.

Also, someone really should tell Chris it's okay if Reserve beers aren't barrel aged. I'd gladly take a couple bottles of a Berliner-esque thing (like Maigre seems to be) as part of the membership. I know the "barrel" thing is supposed to be entice members but at this point I doubt he's having trouble filling the membership and ba'd stuff like Cuvier is hitting the public anyway.

I'm pretty pumped about the new Betise. I had the Wild Turkey Betise at FOBAB and it was my #1 for the entire day (even after GI, SP, and Lost Abbey). Call me crazy...but it was the only thing I had multiple pours of and was incredible.

Also, who has had the Blackberry Maigre so far?

I had that and Betise #2 at the poorly run Green Lady sour event. Those 2 along with a cask of DESTHIL Lynnbrook dry hopped with Topaz were the standouts.

Was it rather jammy or more grainy berliner?

If it's anything like the Raspberry Maigre from the November event, then it will be slight tart with a hint of raspberries. Nothing in your face.

WT Betise is the best beer Chris has produced. Excited to do a SBS with each batch.

Should be a great time, really looking forward to this one now. Free draft beer! Bottle share last time was a lot of fun and I imagine this one may be even better. Also free draft beer! And I kind of like that he teamed with Beer Temple, as I have never actually had a chance to get in there, being from the far NW burbs. I imagine I will buy other things besides Transient when I pick up my bottles, so its a win/win for Chris/Chris. If rain is in the forecast I may consider bringing a canopy.

Weather forecast now looks like no rain but chilly. Somewhere around 55. It's May 31st, get your **** together Chicago weather.
