So are we getting Buckley at the release or no?

He said he reserved 75% of the production for sale at the release party. It's not included in the membership. Just for sale that day. I snagged a pair today from The Beer Cellar for less than $18 after tax. Pretty excited to share one with friends this weekend or maybe both if people like it as much as I do since they'll be more available on the 31st.

What size bottle?

Chris finally told me the kegs for the Beermiscuous saison and sour event:

Ardent
Wine barrel Presque
Hop Drank

Said he might swap one of those out, but who knows. If anyone is planning on going, stop by and say hi. Love meeting fellow TB'ers. I'll be the tall guy behind the counter (or ask for the tall one from ABV Chicago). Here's the rest of the tap list and event details:

Weather should be perfect too. Should be.

Had the Ardent and the wine barrel Presque at the Cody's event on Monday. Ardent was very good, but Presque was one of the better sours I've ever had (the list of sours I've ever had isn't a long one, but I've had more than a few). It's really, really well made, and I'm pumped that I'll get another chance to try it tonight.

If that was the Presque on tap at the Cody's event, it wasn't barrel aged, just the base Presque (I asked Chris at the event). Wine barrel Presque is really damn good in my opinion.

You know, you're right. Now that I think about it, the sign just said "Presque sour red". Looking forward to trying the wine barrel version tonight.

This bottled batch of Buckley...right on. Like a blended cafe mocha and vanilla latte. A little less maple than the draft at the last release.

Looks like CBX caught on. Hopefully the rest of the beer world stays in the dark before the May 31 release. If Betts really reserved 75% of the batch then I'll take my 4-6 bottles thank you very much. Just superb.

I found his Buckley availability posting to be pretty lack luster. I was trying to get 1 bottle to ship out to a friend, 1 bottle for this weekend.

Monday afternoon email stating its available at 3 stores yet no Buckley for sale at Grand/Western Armanettis Monday 8PM. Tuesday PM they reluctantly sell me 1 bottle & decide I'm not special enough to buy a sixer of zombie dust like the other two guys in the store.
Email says Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning available at Moreno's. Go to Moreno's Wednesday 9pm they haven't received allotment.

Hopefully its not a cluster at the release party

Had Ardent tonight at beermiscuous, absolutely lovely. Hoping there are bottles available at the release.
Wine Presque was good, but too acidic.

Everything else there ranged from 'meh' to 'good god this is bad'... Transient making everyone else look bad.

Agreed. The Middle Brow beer was nice but too sweet. Hop Drank was the last keg of the original batch (same thing with Wine barrel Presque). Think I had 2 Presques and the second one was kind of difficult to finish. Still love that Noon Whistle berliner though.

Also, per Chris, there'll be another Pentameter released at some point. There's also a cherry Pentameter (don't know if will be bottled or not). Also, 5 member bottles for the next release - 2 500 mL and 3 750 mL (or 3 and 2, I had a lot by that point).

the green lady posted a photo of a cherry pentameter bottle on facebook. looks too fully realized to not be a real thing:

after tasting it this afternoon (first beer of the day), i'm convinced that buckley is better out of the bottle than it was on tap. i will be buying my limit at the release.

Is this a release to the public or is it a members only situation. I am extremely interested in getting more

I will be someone's guest and pay out of pocket for the release and yall can keep what they are releasing, I just want me some Buckley. This offer is only good if the release is not Buckley

Released beers are for members only. They typically have a smaller quantity of 'other' available beers for purchase for the members and member's guest as well but these are usually beers that are also distributed (i.e. Hop Drank, Buckley, etc). The bulk of the beers released are members only beers.

So I don't think your offer will appeal to anyone from a "hey you can keep my beers except Buckley" perspective because as a guest you won't have access to most released beers as is. However you might find a generous member who'd take you as their +1. Maybe offer to buy them some drafts as a thank you.

Thank you sir, I think at this point it's obvious that I'm not real familiar with how transient does their releases, appreciate the info.

"One Trick only has 6 beers left of ours"

I'm assuming beers aging in oak, right? Who would have the others? Aquanut?
