If you guys thought the Blackberry Maigre was good on tap, Bottle>Tap.

It's really nice to see a fruited berliner coming out of the area, Has Chris brewed this style before with fruits?

Exact! Chicago needs fruited berliners ASAP. Not sure if that's what you were getting at, but I decided to make this about what I was getting at....

Very good to hear!

And I'm almost positive I had a Blueberry Peach Maigre at the first release.

sporadic #3 is easily the best of the 3. slightly more funk than either one or two and a slightly more restrained acidity. if this is the direction chris is going in with these, i have a really good feeling about the theoretical #4.

Is 4 in barrels? I thought 3 was excellent as well. but I still haven't opened either wine treatment of 1 or 2 yet.

had a great time. much more streamlined than the last event. ardent and the mango chili gose were tops. new betise is awesome. blackberry maigre had a bizarre aroma (maybe a little cheesy?) but the taste was legit. beer temple extras pickup was easy peasy. reupped.

edit: also, dat cherry soda.

update on this: i opened a blackberry maigre bottle tonight. all of that bizarre aroma? not there at all. blackberry maigre is the real deal, folks. really ******* good.

Anyone else have a cherry pantameter?

Had one over the weekend. I was really impressed with the depth. It wasn't like most American wilds with cherries that taste like a sour blended with some cherry juice. There was skin and a bit of pit. Not too acidic, as I've unfortunately found a few of the recent beers to be.

No one got a bleach thing with Cherry Pent? Did I get a bad bottle?

I can still taste it.

Bottle. I had house work to do after getting home and thought "**** it..."

And continuing on that decision: Cherry Pentameter.

The smell brings back childhood days at the local public pool. There's a kind of bleach scent that falls away to cherry pie filling. It isn't unpleasant, just... different.

The bottle overflowed when I opened it but it's very mildly carbonated. After the initial gush, the head dissipated to nothing. Dark red color. Cloudy.

On the mouth I still get a little of that bleach thing. But it's wonderful otherwise. Big tart cherry, not at all overly sweet or pie-like. Not too sour, just enough to dry your mouth out enough to want another sip.

It's good and potentially great if the swimming pool aspect wasn't so distracting.

so i opened a cherry pentameter tonight, and while i didn't get any gushing like you did, i agree that there is some kind of odd aroma and taste that i'm not sure about, but i can see why you described it as bleach. maybe a bit of plastic or chemical burn? i mean, it's drinkable and tasty but i do get something weird around the edges.

I had a similar experience a few days ago. I didn't get bleach or gushing, but there was a peculiar aroma that didn't translate over to a strong flavor. It was almost like a mild and not terribly unpleasant pee smell? I'm bad as describing scents and flavors. It still tasted good overall, it was just sort of a weird experience. It was still good, and everything else I've had from the release has been terrific so far.

Not sure if any you transient boys and gals like anything that doesn't have lactobasilicas, but Chris, myself and john at one trick made a special pale ale for the upcoming dead shows. Be on the lookout july4th weekend for a lemongrass rooibius 'not fade away' pale ale (w/ mosiac & dank chinook) at a bunch of places all over the city. It's pretty ****** tasty.

Are we going to party for the shows?
