Lots of fun on Saturday with skrip, jtclockwork, koopa and a few others not on here.

From Left to right: 1948 Geeroms Gueze, 1958 Heyvaert Kriek, 1963 Eylenbosch Gueze, 1979 Eylenbosch Kriek, 1980s De Troch Gueuze, Cantillon Brabantie, 3F 1999 Oude Gueuze, 3F Milennium Gueuze, Cantillon Spuyten Duyvil, Cantillon Bourgogne, Cantillon Crianza Helena, Cantillon Zwanze 2008, Cantillon Zwanze 2012, h.ertie Rubarberlambik, Cantillon Zwanze 2010, Cantillon Jean Chris Nomad, 3F Zenne y Frontera, Cantillon Carignan, Cantillon Heerengueuze, Boon Vat 79

Highlights for me were Bourgogne, millennium, jcn. Brabantaie, crianza, and zenne would be next, but really all except the 79 Kriek was very good. The 48 geeroms was the biggest surprise as it held up very well. Spuyten has a nice cranberry acidity and was extremely good.

How was y'alls brabantiae?

dat champ du blanc, anyone have it yet? if so thoughts?

Drank a few pours early at Great Taste and thought it was arguably the best thing I had all day. Bright, lightly acidic, light funk, Grape tannin and light grape / riesling character. Could use a little more carbonation but glad I went on Friday morning (aside from drinking with some of my favorite people).

Better than Bramble Berry and on the same level as Wild Peach. I dig the sour peach ring thing that Wild Peach did, but I like the base blonde sour more than their "darker" sour base.

I'm pretty sure you tasted something better.

Only things I had close were Barrel Aged Third Coast Old Ale from Bells or Blackout Juice from Off Color (and that was barely a beer).

It's tasty and for $10 a bottle a fantastic deal.

To be clear, I'm just giving you **** over your choice of words. I've never understood why people phrase statements of personal opinion with "arguably" as a preface. Given that you (the royal you, not you specifically) are stating an opinion rather than a fact, there isn't anything to argue with, since individuals can hold disparate opinions, and nobody stating a contrary opinion is challenging the integrity of your opinion.

I figure I should up the linguistic pedantry a bit if I'm going to sport an HL Mencken avatar for now.

You are doing a good job of eliciting Mencken's panache for elitism. Hopefully we'll avoid his despicable racist rhetoric.

We finally did our Beatification vertical last night. When we started planning it, batch 7 wasn't out.

The highlights, in order --

I brought Taco Bell:

CheapBeerBuzz brought a Deviation after realizing he didn't have the batch 5 he had promised to contribute (and yes, after years of planning, with everyone confirming their batches multiple times, receiving an "oh ****" text from him 50 minutes after the tasting was supposed to start produced a lot of invective. But he redeemed himself, as usual):

We located and stole batch 5 from pokgye's garage (only half kidding):

With an impossible angle, CheapBeerBuzz tossed a gummy bear into my batch 4.

Notes:
- Despite the TB and sours, I didn't **** myself.
- Batch 7 is White Birch pond water levels of terrible. It was my first time having this one; I'm surprised RR released it.
- Batch 6 was my favorite (most well rounded; clean lactic flavor with lemon zest and a touch of funk). Batch 4 was similarly balanced, but oxidizing into blandness. I wouldn't advise trading for b4 outside of a need to have the vertical.
- Batch 2 and 3 have gone firmly in the battery acid direction, with b2 more restrained due to oxidation. I didn't like them, but most people really liked b3. I've heard reports of really oxidized b2. The cork on mine held up pretty well, but in general, I'd suggest skipping that batch at this point. B3 can be a crapshoot.
- Batch 5 is going in the direction of b3, I think. Leaning towards that sour profile, but still drinkable for me.
- PH1 >>> 1. It was my first time having either one. 1 is well oxidized and over the hill; PH1 is getting there, but it has held up surprisingly well. Lot of balance and some dark fruit notes that stuck out.

It's apparent how different b1/PH1 were from the other batches, with b2/b3/b5 being of another family and b4/b6 being of yet another. B7 was a complete waste of money.
