A little blending to end the evening.
Wish I could have been there both nights after seeing what you guys took down on Wednesday!!

Let the record show that I had zero bottles to contribute to this since I was 1,500 miles from home. These jerks (liquiddegenerate ThreeFishes LambicKing ) ended up bringing all of these and didn't give a **** that I was mooching off their generosity. Well done boys, thanks again and payback is coming.

Also, BB9K jumped to the front of the list for me as far as barrel aged non-sour beer goes. That thing was waaaaay beyond what I expected, and I knew it would be awesome. Just an incredible beer, I now will need to trade for one.

Other highlights for me were the Sang Noir, Herfst (amazing as always), SitR Kumquat (who knew Kumquat was a citrus fruit? **** if I knew) and Yo Soy Un Berliner.

For me, it was (1) BA Kopi, (2) regular ass SS, (3) BASS, (4) Vietnamese, (5) Jamaica Blue, (6) reg Kopi. All fantastic, though, this might be my favorite variant'd stout series.

Couple brews we enjoyed after...

Fantastic saison, tastes like something Shaun Hill would do... O WAIT.

1QUH2xe.jpg

Awesome, I definitely like this better than Abner.

uRX7c9K.jpg

Might like this even more than Double Citra. Could easily take 64oz to the dome.

nPCOwIC.jpg

Good, that bourbon is no joke. Better than the last sample I had.

LrNewPn.jpg

This beer sucks.

NzNIkAu.jpg

Cinnamon toast crunch & Teddy Grahams covered in vanilla drizzle, hot fudge, & sweet apple brandy.

And let it be known, Vanilla don't fade, Coffee don't fade.

I found out last week that my University is giving me tenure, so I dug into my cellar to provide all of the beer for a small 5-man celebratory tasting last night.

Opinions were divided as to which was the winner - JD Mexican Cake or Murda'd Out Stout - but a great time was had by all!

From yesterday: Voltron Achieved!

L to R:

SR4, SR3, SR2, SR1, '10 Kiwi, '13 Kiwi, '10 Persimmon, '10 Peach, '08 Blueberry, '10 Blackberry, '13 Blackberry, '10 Strawberry, '13 Strawberry, '11 Cherry, '13 Cherry, '11 Raspberry, '13 Raspberry.

Sour reserves: 2,1,3,4 (4 needs some time, 1 is most sour,2 if perfectly balanced and 3 is on its way.)

Fruits: Persimmon, peach, blueberry, kiwi (its so obnoxiously sour, older was more rounded) strawberry (older one had a rotten fruit thing) cherry (older had floaters but tasted awesome), blackberry, raspberry. The peach wanted out of its bottle bad. I hit a tree 20' away about 8' up. Not a bad sour in the bunch and was excellent to have them all in a single day.

And the feeling overall? Best? Worst? Most surprising?
Best to Worst:

SR2 (perfect.)
SR1 (a a touch more sour than SR2, damn near perfect.)
'13 Strawberry (so much strawberry. most strawberry forward beer I've ever had.)
'10 Peach
'10 Persimmon
'11 Cherry (cherry pie for days. really nice.)
'10 Kiwi
SR3
SR4
'13 Kiwi (incredibly sour. ridiculous.)
'10 Blackberry
'13 Blackberry
'08 Blueberry
'11 Raspberry
'13 Raspberry
Gilgamesh
'13 Cherry
Dantalion
'10 Strawberry (disgusting.)

Almanac was great, like #3&#4 this was fruity light session able sour. So nice as an opener. The Elab was out of this world, so fun how the walnuts played with the oak in layers of earthiness. Thanks again Ryan_G
