Hosted a tasting last night. Stars were definitely the BVDL and 2010 Cantillon Kriek, CW15 and Atrial were also fantastic. The bvdl was poured blind without us knowing what it was so the hype wouldn't effect our perception. It is that good, overwhelming chocolate when cold that fades to bourbon vanilla as it warms. Thanks to Thomas, Scott and Kevin for the tasty beers.

Highlights were Framboos (super funky raspberry jam) and Lou Pepe Gueuze.
King Henry was a massive letdown.

What was the standout?

Birth off Tragedy and Southampton. The Kalevipoeg was an old bottle and had gotten tired - much as I love Cigar City I find that their beers rarely cellar well. Great Lakes BA Blackout was also great.

I thought Bernice was a damn-near perfect saison. Lucybelle had way too much funk and was much less enjoyable. Thanks for bringing these btw!

Sure thing. Agreed with you on that, but still very similar. A fine line separated them.

Was better on tap early this year. Pretty good, but I'd be hesitant to trade for a bottle. Don't accept anyone trying to ham it up.

Peaches were stronger in the tap version.
