much like OG compunction didn't catch carb, chef brad's Reuben pizza's dough wouldn't pitch so in a top chef moment he transcended them into Reuben wellingtons. to be honest, I don't know what the **** a Wellington is but this was a thing of genius. very delicious.

I had a nice spread of pictures of the Reuben wellingtons but I deleted them in drunken stupor :(

Ace of Spades something IPA - meh. let's start on on the opposite side

Hopslam - Good in a Midwest way but nothing id ever go after unless it was at my grocery store / if so would crush regularly like a mug.
Consecration Batch 3 (2010?) - funky in a mushroom, damp way with Cabernet Sauvignon notes present. notes of currants in the back as well
Consecration Batch 1 (2008?) - vinous, kind of clean cab notes. currants still present. no funk, damp, mushroom-ish at all. tart & dry in back. Definitely my preference over any aged I've tried.
*Plenty of carb in both batches.
Jubelale '10 - didn't say anywhere what it was but tasted like a barley wine with either or both cherries and Pinot barrels. would not bang again or wait til 2020.
BA sexual chocolate - actually really really enjoyed this. was like a chocolate bar melted into a glass. would definitely hang again. well done Carolina.
CD 6 - oof. wow. had high hopes for the cd7 but damn gurl. layers of strawberry, nectarine, sweetart, citric tart, magic? much complexity; clean. May have stolen the show for me.
CD7 - funk, toned with dope ass ba HF saison creeping in the background - adds a slight tropical citric tannic-ness but definitely a good amount of the 2 yr old lambic up front & a bit all over. def enjoyed
Saison Tonnellerie - palate cleanser, clean refreshing saison. perhaps hint of pepper. nothing to write home about but would pair well with food. personally I'd choose seizon bretta any day
3F golden blend '11 - funk, super funk, but kind of nothing else after that. was a bit shocked but def preferred CD 7
Izzy- She bangs. still shakin it since 08 but might be a slower groove now. still tantalizing. sultry funk, tropical, soft festina, lost abbey signature-ness. all in all - delicious, so honored to tick this, Isabella is now in line for future daughters names if I have one, but honestly prefer aged Cable Car, obviously 09.
Left Coast Ba voodoo - not a whole lot going on but still wholeheartedly enjoyed. some roast. very tiny bourbon. thats pretty much it
Societe Scrapper Black IPA - I thought this was supposedly Societes new IPA as of a few months but apparently I was wildly off. really hoping for an Alpine ugly substitute but this fell quite short - as though Moses split dark malt on one side and tropical hops on one side but kept them separated on your pallet as well. I can only edge so long until Ugly returns
ba imperial biscotti break - very tasty, the IBB you know and love but so much better. highly recommend for a beetus candidate
BCBCS '10 - like a cute single mom past her prime. in a tasting situation / bar she doesn't stand out la nor wouldn't be my first choice but solo / markintiharing I'd take that down.
Pappy 15 - Thanks to an extremely generous move by wscaffe , this was passed around and loved by all. dat vanilla linger. dayum. thank you so much.

Faves were cd6, Izzy. honorable mention - cd7, consecration batch 1, ba IBB, ba sexual chocolate, pappy 15. Looking forward to the next one! Perhaps checking in on DDG, beat vert, & new eclipse is in order next.

Izzy was definitely a treat. Delicate but tart, with some great funk. The highlight of the weekend overall for me was trying 4 different batches of Consecration between the bottles last night and the O'Brien's TION event. It's amazing how the flavor profile changes with age. Biggest personal surprise was that I preferred CD6 over CD7 as well given the disparity in hype between the two (which once again shows that taste doesn't necessarily factor into hype?). CD6 had layers of flavors while CD7 seemed a little one-note dominated by the lambic in comparison. Anyways, it was an awesome evening hanging out with some great friends. As always, looking forward to the next one!

Forgot to post this from my tasting Sunday. We even got some BBQ catered.

Great time.

This was a fun night among 5 of us on Saturday. An unpleasantly blurry photo to accompany how unpleasant I felt the next morning.

Just unearthed the one and only pic I had from Darkness '13:

This was from early on the night before... before my phone died. Judging by who I was hanging with at the time, I'm guessing these were mostly consumed by the likes of ObiWanKushnobi, KWMiles, @mnphish, minnesotaryan, e30todamax, Sender1... maybe some other hoodlums?

Really wish I had more pics from that weekend.

This was split between two and a half guys. I liked some of them

Great haul just came in from justforrazors. Great extras too. Thanks man. (not pictured, KBBS) we already drank it. Figured it was the right time to drink it especially that GrumpyOldTroll was in montreal. (great was also consumed)
